The people of town started consultation aimed at establishing a private college, sometimes in the form of domestic often addressed a formal meetings. ame of that, etc. Infect, there was a proposal to the college in the name of the person, creating confusion. Finally, after a great discussion, a meeting was held in the Zila Shilpolola Academy on 19 August 1982, they took a great decision for establishing a college named “Wali Newaz Khan College” at Newtown, after the name of the generous Wali Newaz Khan. The tide of joy came in the town folk. Sub-divisional commissioner M. Abdul Mutaleb played a leading role in establishing the college. Moreover, the great persons who are supported and contributed directly or indirectly to establishing this college are as follows. Nephew of founder Abdul Awal Khan, Babu Shailendra Shekhat Roy alias Kalo Babo, Kazi Mofizul Haque (Manik Kazi), Ad. Moffazzal Ahamed, Principal Masbah Uddin Ahamed, Ad. Abdul Hamid (Now the honorable president of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh), Professor Jalal Uddin Ahamed, Professor Azraf Uddin, and Professor Md. Robiullah, Majharul Islam Bhuiyan (former mayor of the Kishoreganj Pourshova and former Chairman of this college, Abdul Manik, Habibur Rahman, Nurul Islam (Tara Mia), Amdadul Haque (Moti Mia), Abdul Hannan, Hazi Safir Uddin, Ad. Sidur Rahman, Dr. A.K. Sorfuddin, M.A Rashid, Biranra Chandra Ghosh, Principal Norandra Chandra Ghosh, Motiur Rahman, Manik Lal Chowdhury, Azizul Wahab, Abdul Jahid Talukdar, Horandra Chandra Saha, Rejaul Karim Chonno, Anuar Hossain Milky, Mijanur Rahman (Additional Sub-division Commissioner), Sayful Alam, Ad. Abdul Kuddus, Abdul Rosid, Abdul Kadir and many others. Under the instruction of the founder of the college, Sub-division Commissioner M. Mutaleb, and the founder principal the activities of this college were started. Md. Sahiduzzaman, a student from Lalitpur, was the first student of the college. He was admitted to the science group by paying an admission fee of taka only 26. Inauguration class was started under the open sky on Students were present in the first class—the founder ordered to school for allotting two rooms for the college. At first, professors of local Women’s College (Now Govt. Women’s College) took classes. Within a short time, by making a tall tin shade L pattern building and appointing 04 teachers, the activities of the college were conducted based on a permanent way at the present college campus. After a couple of years, this college got the honor of being slandered educational institution in the Kishoreganj district many times. Successively, in the 1998-99 session, by presenting honor courses such as Bangla, Accounting, Computer Science, and B.B.A (professional), the college was opening a new chapter in this district for the first time At present, Marketing, Islamic Studies, Finance, Psychology, Geography, Philosophy, and B.B.A (professional) program. Besides that, MBA courses and many other honors courses will be opened shortly. Now, the number of students of this college is above 6,000 which was started with 50/60 students only. The college has a dedicated governing body for undertaking overall Development in the governing works. The college has 75 full-time and nine part-time dedicated and well-skilled teachers who are taught regularly 13 subjects college honors, B.B.A (professional), Degree (Pass), HSC (Humanities, Science, Business Studies), and H.S.C (Business Management) level education. The number of third and fourth class employees in and around 40. The college has been well-decorated with four multistoried academic Buildings and a rice library. This educational institution has been ably to enlist as a started educational institution in Bangladesh. In the future, this institution will provide quality education to the students like the time now. To do this college seeking the co-operation of all.
