'মহাভারত'-এ উল্লিখিত আছে মহাপরাক্রান্ত ভীষ্ম এবং কৃষ্ণসখা অর্জুন দ্বৈরথে অবতীর্ণ হয়েছিলেন কুরুক্ষেত্রে। হোমারের কৃপায় আমরা আরও জেনেছি গ্রীক এবং ট্রোজান বীরেরাও ছিলেন দ্বৈরথ কুশল। এইসব কীর্তিমান বীরবৃন্দ পরস্পরের বীরত্বকে শ্রদ্ধা করতেন। তবু নিয়তির নির্বন্ধে কিংবা আত্মাদর্শের সংঘাতে সমরে একজন অন্যজনকে হননে প্রবৃত্ত হতেন। বিজয়ী এবং বিজিত উভয়ের পরাক্রমই কীর্তিত হতো সাধা

এই শতাব্দীতে এসে বিজ্ঞজনেরা আদর্শিক বিরোধ অবসানের লক্ষ্যে অবতীর্ণ হন দ্বৈরথে। শব্দ-গাণ্ডীব আর যুক্তি-পরশু সজ্জিত এই বিতর্ক সৈনিকেরা পরস্পরকে হনন করেন না। তারা নিপুণ বাক্য প্রক্ষেপের মাধ্যমে বুদ্ধিবৃত্তিক উপস্থাপনা করেন স্বকীয় সিদ্ধান্তের। এই বিতর্ক যুদ্ধ উত্তেজনাকর অথচ রক্তপাতহীন। শান্তিপূর্ণ, আনন্দদায়ক এবং ফলপ্রসূ। মতবৈরীকে বশীভূত করার এক ব্রহ্মাস্ত্র।

এই মহান আদর্শকে ধারণ করে একটি যুক্তিবাদী সমাজ প্রতিষ্ঠার আশায় এবং কুষ্টিয়ায় বিতর্ক আন্দোলন জনপ্রিয় করার উদ্দেশ্যে ২০০৮ সাল থেকে কুষ্টিয়া ডিবেটিং সোসাইটি কাজ করে যাচ্ছে।

কিছু শব্দ শুধু উচ্চারিত হয় না,
কিছু শব্দ মঞ্চ কাঁপায়।

এক পাশে উন্নয়নের স্বপ্নে আঁকা বিশাল পরিকল্পনা,
অন্য পাশে বাস্তবতার কঠিন হিসাব।
আর মাঝখানে দাঁড়িয়ে একটাই প্রশ্ন—
দেশ কি নতুন স্বপ্ন গড়বে,
নাকি একটু থেমে পুরোনোগুলোকে পূর্ণতা দেবে?
আর সেই প্রশ্নের উত্তর খুজতে, কেডিএস কর্তৃক আয়োজিত হয় একটি প্রদর্শনী বিতর্ক।

They stay awake through sleepless nights, sacrifice their own comfort for their children’s happiness, and continue loving endlessly without asking for anything in return. A mother’s love is perhaps the purest and most selfless form of strength this world has ever known.

Today, we celebrate more than just a birthday, we celebrate the incredible journey of Chayon Karmakar, our Former President and a true powerhouse of leadership.

Managing people is an art, and Chayon is a master of it. His ability to transform a simple idea into a massive, successful event is nothing short of legendary. Every brick laid, every field cultivated, every system built, carries the story of human effort, sacrifice, and determination. The world we live in today is not an accident; it is the result of millions of workers who choose perseverance over comfort every single day.
Today is a reminder that the world does not move forward on its own, it is carried on the shoulders of those who work tirelessly, often without recognition.

Today is International Labour Day. Kushtia Debating Society pays tribute to the workers, dreamers, and builders who continue to shape our society with unwavering dedication. From the fields to the factories, from classrooms to construction sites, every contribution matters, every effort counts.

Labour is not just about survival; it is about dignity, rights, and recognition. As we celebrate today, we also reflect on the importance of fair opportunities, safe working conditions, and respect for every individual who contributes to the fabric of our nation.

Kushtia Debating Society expresses deep sorrow over the tragic accident at Daulatdia Ferry Ghat on 25 March 2026.

We mourn the loss of all those who lost their lives in this heartbreaking incident, including Ahnaf Rayan, former General Secretary of Jahangirnagar University Debate Organization and Organizing Secretary of Rajbari Debate Association, along with his mother and nephew.

Ahnaf Rayan was not only a dedicated organizer but also a passionate debater whose integrity, leadership, and commitment inspired many within the debating community. His legacy will continue to live on through the people he influenced.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to all the grieving families. We also pray for the swift recovery of the injured and the safe return of those still missing.

May the departed souls rest in peace.

আজকের এই দিনটি কোনো সাধারণ দিন নয়, এটি বাঙালি জাতির আত্মত্যাগ, সংগ্রাম আর অদম্য সাহসের সবচেয়ে গৌরবময় স্মৃতি। ১৯৭১ সালের ২৫ মার্চের সেই ভয়াল গণহত্যার রাত, যখন নিরস্ত্র মানুষের ওপর নেমে এসেছিল নির্মমতা, ঠিক সেই অন্ধকার ভেদ করেই ২৬ মার্চ সূচনা হয়েছিল স্বাধীনতার দীপ্ত যাত্রা।

একটি ভাষাভিত্তিক জাতি, দীর্ঘদিনের বঞ্চনা, বৈষম্য আর শোষণের বিরুদ্ধে দাঁড়িয়ে ঘোষণা করেছিল “আমরা স্বাধীন হবো।” সেই স্বপ্নকে বাস্তবে রূপ দিতে লাখো মানুষ ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়েছিল মুক্তিযুদ্ধে। কেউ অস্ত্র হাতে, কেউ কলমে, কেউ কণ্ঠে, আবার কেউ নিঃশব্দে সবকিছু বিসর্জন দিয়ে। ৩০ লাখ শহীদের রক্ত ত্যাগে অর্জিত হয়েছে আমাদের এই স্বাধীনতা।

লাল-সবুজের এই পতাকা কেবল একটি কাপড় নয়, এটি আমাদের ইতিহাসের প্রতিচ্ছবি। লালের ভেতর রয়েছে শহীদের রক্তের অমর স্মৃতি, আর সবুজে রয়েছে এই বাংলার প্রকৃতি, তার প্রাণ, তার ভবিষ্যৎ। এই পতাকা আমাদের শেখায় মাথা উঁচু করে দাঁড়াতে, অন্যায়ের বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদ করতে, এবং নিজের পরিচয়ে গর্ববোধ করতে।

স্বাধীনতা মানে শুধু ভৌগোলিক সীমারেখা নয়, এটি চিন্তার স্বাধীনতা, মতপ্রকাশের স্বাধীনতা, এবং ন্যায়ের পক্ষে দৃঢ় অবস্থান নেওয়ার শক্তি। স্বাধীনতা আমাদের দায়িত্বও মনে করিয়ে দেয় একটি ন্যায়ভিত্তিক, সমতাপূর্ণ এবং মানবিক বাংলাদেশ গড়ে তোলার অঙ্গীকার।
আজকের এই দিনে আমরা গভীর শ্রদ্ধায় স্মরণ করি সকল শহীদ, মুক্তিযোদ্ধা এবং সেইসব অজানা মানুষদের, যাদের ত্যাগ ছাড়া এই স্বাধীনতা সম্ভব হতো না। তাদের স্বপ্ন ছিল একটি উন্নত, সম্মানজনক বাংলাদেশ, যেখানে মানুষ মুক্তভাবে বাঁচবে, কথা বলবে, এবং নিজের অধিকার ভোগ করবে।

চলুন, এই স্বাধীনতার চেতনাকে হৃদয়ে ধারণ করে আমরা প্রত্যেকে নিজ নিজ জায়গা থেকে দেশ গঠনে ভূমিকা রাখি।
