Today, the Orientation Program for the April–September/2026 (Summer Semester), organized by the Institute of Agribusiness and Development Studies (IADS), was successfully held at the conference room of the Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology, BAU.
We were honored by the presence of the honorable Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Professor Dr. A. K. Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan, as the Chief Guest, along with Professor Dr. Mohammad Amirul Islam, Dean of the Faculty, as Special Guest, and the respected Acting Proctor, Professor Dr. Kazi Farhad Kadir. The program was chaired by the respected Director of IADS, Professor Dr. Sadika Haque.
The event was attended by former directors, respected faculty members, colleagues, and our newly admitted students, who were the main attraction of the program.
The event was conducted by Assistant Professor Moumita Dev, and the welcome speech was delivered by Assistant Professor Mousumi Saha. Professor Dr. Shakila Salam presented an overview of the Institute and introduced each of the newly admitted students, making them feel part of the community. Associate Professor Dr. Arifa Jannat spoke to the students about university rules, discipline, and provided important guidelines for their academic journey. Former directors, the Dean, faculty members, and the Proctor shared motivational words, encouraging students to embrace their journey with confidence.
In the closing remarks, Professor Dr. Sadika Haque highlighted the Institute’s vision for excellence and warmly thanked everyone for their presence and support.
Finally, the honorable Vice-Chancellor delivered an inspiring speech, encouraging the students to become entrepreneurs and future leaders. He emphasized that students should not only focus on acquiring knowledge, but also develop leadership qualities, ethics, humanity, and professional skills so that they can contribute meaningfully to the development of the country and society.
