Mymensingh Engineering College (Bengali: ময়মনসিংহ ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং কলেজ), commonly referred to as MEC, is a public undergraduate engineering college in Mymensingh Division, Bangladesh, and was established in 2009. This is a constituent college of the University of Dhaka. Every year, around 180 students get accepted to undergraduate programs in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE), Civil Enginee

ring (CE) and Computer Science Engineering (CSE). There is a hope that in future it will be upgraded into full-fledged Public Engineering University called Mymensingh University of Engineering & Technology (MUET).

ময়মনসিংহ ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং কলেজের সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগের ২০১৮–১৯ সেশনের তুষার যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের Marquette University থেকে Fall 2026 সেশনে Civil Engineering বিষয়ে ফুল-ফান্ডেড PhD স্কলারশিপ অর্জন করেছেন।
🎉 এছাড়াও তিনি যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের The University of Texas at Tyler এবং The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley থেকে ফুল-ফান্ডেড Master’s Scholarship এবং জাপানের MEXT Integrated PhD Scholarship অর্জন করেন।

আপনি জানেন কি, আমেরিকার বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় গুলোতে “Spouse Quota” আছে? একজন আগে PhD করতে চলে গেলেই পরে তার Wife/Husband এর profile খুব একটা strong না হলেও: মোটামুটি CGPA, research/publication না থাকলেও কোনো না কোনোভাবে Master’s/PhD তে ফুল ফান্ডেড স্কলারশিপ পেয়ে যায় 🇺🇸

কি ভাবছেন যা ভাবছেন তা সত্য! তাহলে CGPA, IELTS, GRE, research/publication নিয়ে চিন্তা করে কি করলেন জীবনে ? 😂

ময়মনসিংহ ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং কলেজের সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগের ২০১৮–১৯ সেশনের শিক্ষার্থী আব্দুল্লাহ আল শান্ত ২০২৬ সালের Fall সেশনে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের University of Missouri S&T (Missouri S&T)-তে ফুল-ফান্ডেড PhD স্কলারশিপ অর্জন করেছেন। একই বছরে তিনি ইউরোপের মর্যাদাপূর্ণ Erasmus Mundus Scholarship এবং কানাডার University of Alberta থেকেও ফুল-ফান্ডেড মাস্টার্স স্কলারশিপ লাভ করেন।

আন্ডারগ্র্যাজুয়েট পর্যায়ে তিনি সিভিল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগে প্রথম স্থান অর্জন করেন। পাশাপাশি গবেষণায় সক্রিয় অংশগ্রহণের মাধ্যমে বিভিন্ন কনফারেন্স ও জার্নালে একাধিক গবেষণাপত্র প্রকাশ করেছেন। ২০২৪ সালের জুন মাসে তিনি ময়মনসিংহ ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং কলেজ থেকে BSc in Engineering ডিগ্রি সম্পন্ন করেন।

We are delighted to share that Md. Imran Hossain, a proud alumnus of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Session: 2015–16, Mymensingh Engineering College, has been awarded the highly prestigious and globally competitive Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) PhD Fellowship at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).

He will begin his PhD journey in September 2026 under the MSCA fellowship at DTU. Previously, he was awarded the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Scholarship to pursue his master's degree in Europe, reflecting his outstanding academic excellence and research potential.

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), funded by the European Union, is one of the world's most prestigious and competitive research fellowship programs, supporting exceptional researchers through world-class training, international mobility, and collaborative research.

Congratulations to Md. Imran Hossain on this remarkable achievement. We wish him every success in his PhD journey and future research career.

🎓 সিলেট ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং কলেজ থেকে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে Assistant Professor 🇺🇸

সিলেট ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং কলেজের CSE ১ম ব্যাচ (সেশন:২০০৭–২০০৮)-এর শিক্ষার্থী ড. নাজমুস সাকিব যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের Southern Utah State University-এ Assistant Professor হিসেবে নিয়োগ পেয়েছেন। এর আগে তিনি University of Colorado Colorado Springs থেকে Cybersecurity বিষয়ে PhD ডিগ্রি অর্জন করেছেন। তাঁর এই অর্জন বাংলাদেশের বর্তমান ও ভবিষ্যৎ শিক্ষার্থীদের জন্য অনুপ্রেরণার এক উজ্জ্বল দৃষ্টান্ত।

উল্লেখ্য, সম্প্রতি সিলেট ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং কলেজের একজন শিক্ষার্থী একটি প্রাইভেট আর্মি ইউনিভার্সিটিতে লেকচারার হিসেবে নিয়োগ পেলেও, ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং কলেজে পড়েছেন - এই কারণ দেখিয়ে তাঁর নিয়োগ বাতিল করে দিয়েছিলো কর্তৃপক্ষ। অন্যদিকে সাকিবের মেধা, গবেষণা ও যোগ্যতার স্বীকৃতি দিয়েছে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের একটি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়। এই দুই বাস্তবতা আমাদের দেশে মেধার যথাযথ মূল্যায়ন নিয়ে নতুন করে ভাবতে বাধ্য করে।
