🔹Hons 1st Year English Department- Syllabus Discussion

📢 আজকে ইংরেজি বিভাগের ১ম বর্ষের সিলেবাস সম্পর্কে আলোচনা করা হবে।
📢 জাতীয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অধীনে Hons 1st Year English Department Student দের মোট ৬ টি বিষয় নিয়ে পড়তে হবে।

1. English Reading Skills
2. English Writing Skills
3. Introduction to Poetry
4. Introduction to Prose: Fiction and Non- Fiction
5. History of the Emergence of Independent Bangladesh

নিচের ৩টা Subjects থেকে তোমাদের কলেজ যে কোন একটা Subject বাছাই করে দিবে। তাই অবশ্যই কলেজের সাথে যোগাযোগ করে এই 6 no. বই/ গাইড কিনবে।

📌 বিঃ দ্রঃ ৫নং এবং ৬নং হচ্ছে বাংলা Subjects, বাকি ৪ টা ইংরেজি।

🔹Mark Distribution- Per Subject 100 Marks
✔ তোমাদের পরিক্ষার প্রতি বিষয়ের ১০০ মার্ক্সকে দুই ভাগে ভাগ করা হয়েছে।
✔ ইন- কোর্স পরিক্ষায় ২০ নম্বর এবং বোর্ড পরিক্ষায় ৮০ নম্বর।
✔ ইন- কোর্স পরিক্ষা কলেজেই হবে। তাই ক্লাসে নিয়মিত উপস্থিত থাকতে হবে। কারন কলেজের ক্লাসে ইন- কোর্স পরিক্ষার সাজেশন এবং তারিখ জানিয়ে দেয়া হয়।
✔ ইন- কোর্স পরিক্ষার ২০ নম্বর থেকে প্রাপ্ত নম্বর এবং বোর্ড পরিক্ষায় ৮০ নম্বর থেকে প্রাপ্ত নম্বর তোমার ফাইনাল Result এ যোগ হবে।

📌অতএব, ইন- কোর্স পরিক্ষা কোন ভাবেই Miss করা যাবেনা।

✅ ইন- কোর্স পরিক্ষা- 20 Marks
✅ Total Time: 30 Mins

এই Exam এ Part A Brief Question থাকে, Part B Short Question থাকে।
সাধারণত ৮টা Brief- 8 Marks এবং ৩ টা Short - 12 Marks থাকতে পারে।

📌বিঃ দ্রঃ ইন- কোর্স পরিক্ষার প্রশ্নের ধরন পরিবর্তনশীল।

বোর্ড পরিক্ষায় ৮০ নম্বর কে ৩ ভাগে ভাগ করা হয়েছে।
✅ Total Time: 4 Hours

1. Part A Brief Questions- 10 Marks
2. Part B Short Questions- 20 Marks
3. Part C Broad Questions- 50 Marks

✅ Part A তে ১০ টা Brief Question এর Answer লিখতে হবে। অবশ্যই প্রশ্নের সাথে গুছিয়ে এবং Tense Follow করে উত্তর লিখতে হবে। প্রতি প্রশ্নের নম্বর ১ করে।

✅ Part B তে ৫ টা Short Question এর Answer লিখতে হবে। এই Part এ Question/ Short Note/ Explanation থাকতে পারে। প্রশ্নের উত্তর সুন্দর করে গুছিয়ে লিখতে হবে। 👌Attractive Beginning, 👍Informative Body এবং 💪Solid Ending দিয়ে এই Part এর Answer করতে হবে। প্রতি প্রশ্নের নম্বর ৪ করে।

✅ Part C তে ৫ টা Broad Question এর Answer লিখতে হবে। এই Part C অন্য সব Part থেকে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। প্রশ্নের উত্তর সুন্দর করে গুছিয়ে লিখতে হবে। Part B এর মত এই Part এর প্রত্যেকটা প্রশ্নের উত্তর 👌Attractive Beginning, 👍Informative Body এবং 💪Solid Ending দিয়ে Answer করতে হবে। এটা যেহেতু অন্য সব Part থেকে বেশি Marks Carry করে, তাই এই প্রশ্নের উত্তরগুলো বড় হবে। প্রতি প্রশ্নের নম্বর ১০ করে।

Very helpful post for learning 'Transformation of Sentence'.

📢Transformation of Sentence [Simple, Complex, Compound] এত কঠিন কেন?

কঠিন তাদের জন্যে যারা নিচের তিনটা বিষয় না জেনেই Transformation of Sentence করা শুরু করে। যাইহোক, এই Page এ ধারাবাহিক ভাবে Transformation of Sentence শিখানো হবে।

✅ Verb
✅ Conjunction
✅ Clause

⚠ এই তিনটা বিষয় ভালো করে জানা থাকলে Transformation of Sentence খুব সহজেই করা যাবে।

📢আজকে আমরা Verb শিখবোঃ
Verb দ্বারা কাজ করা ও হওয়া বুঝায়।

📘 He works hard= সে কঠোর ভাবে কাজ করে।
[এখানে কাজ করা বুঝায়]
📘The man is helped= লোকটিকে সাহায্য করা হয়।
[এখানে কাজ হওয়া বুঝায়]

Verb প্রধানত দুই প্রকার:
1. Finite verb 2. Non-finite verb

📌Finite verb: যে verb sentence এর অর্থ পরিপুর্ণ করতে পারে তাকে Finite verb বলে। এই verb আবার দুই ধরনের হয়ে থাকেঃ

✅Principal Verb (Go, Work, Catch, Play etc. )
✅Auxiliary Verb (am, is, are, was, were, have, has, had)

Example 01: He loves his family. সে তার পরিবার কে ভালোবাসে।
এখানে [loves] এই sentence টার অর্থ পরিপূর্ণ করেছে তাই [loves] হচ্ছে একটা Finite Verb.

Example 02: They were absent yesterday. তারা গতকাল অনুপস্থিত ছিলো।
এখানে [were] এই sentence টার অর্থ পরিপূর্ণ করেছে তাই [were] Auxiliary হয়েও একটা Finite Verb.

📌Finite Verb কে এই পাঁচ ভাবে চিনতে হবেঃ
✔ The cat drinks milk. [drinks হচ্ছে V1]
✔ The cat drank milk. [drank হচ্ছে V2]
✔ The cat can drink milk. [can drink হচ্ছে Aux+ V1]
✔ The cat is drinking milk. [is drinking হচ্ছে Aux+ Ving]
✔ The cat has gone there. [has gone হচ্ছে Aux+ V3]

📌📌Note: V1, V2 & Auxiliary+ V1/ V +ing/V3 এগুলো সব Finite verb.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Non-finite verb: যে verb sentence এর অর্থ পরিপুর্ণ করতে পারেনা তাকে Non-finite verb বলে। Non-finite verb তিন প্রকার:
✅Infinitive (to+V1)
✅Gerund (V+ing)
✅Participle (Auxiliary ছাড়া V+ing, V3, Having+V3)

Example 01: He goes there to study. সে সেখানে পড়ালেখা করতে যায়।
এখানে [goes] যদি না থাকে, [to study] এই sentence টার অর্থ পরিপূর্ণ করতে পারেনা । তাই [study] হচ্ছে একটা Non-Finite Verb. একটা Sentence পরিপূর্ণ করতে Finite Verb লাগবেই।

Example 02: They were absent yesterday for being sick. তারা অসুস্থ থাকার জন্য গতকাল অনুপস্থিত ছিলো।
এখানে [were] যদি না থাকে, [for being] এই sentence টার অর্থ পরিপূর্ণ করতে পারেনা । তাই [being] হচ্ছে একটা Non-Finite Verb.
📌Non-Finite Verb কে এই চার ভাবে চিনতে হবেঃ
✔ The cat drinks milk to get energy.
[drinks হচ্ছে Finite Verb, get হচ্ছে Non-Finite Verb ]
✔ The cat drank milk dancing.
[drank হচ্ছে Finite Verb, dancing হচ্ছে Non-Finite Verb ]
✔ The cat can drink milk having chased away.
[can drink হচ্ছে Finite Verb, having chased হচ্ছে Non-Finite Verb]
✔ The cat has gone there without drinking milk.
[has gone হচ্ছে Finite Verb, drinking হচ্ছে Non-Finite Verb]

📌📌 Note: to+V1, Auxiliary ছাড়া V+ing/v3, preposition + V+ing এগুলো সব Non-finite verb.

📘দুইটা Note মুখস্থ করতে হবে তাহলেই Finite Verb & Non-Finite Verb চেনা যাবে।

📢📢এখানে যারা Comment এ [READY] লিখবে তাকেই ৪টা Sentence দেয়া হবে Finite & Non-Finite Verb বের করার জন্য।
For example:
1. I eat rice. এখানে eat হচ্ছে Finite Verb
তাই 1 এর Ans এভাবে লিখতে হবে eat- finite verb

2. They are happy without getting prize. এখানে are Finite Verb & getting হচ্ছে Non-finite Verb
তাই 2 এর Ans এভাবে লিখতে হবে Ans: are-Finite verb, getting - Non-finite verb

⚠ একটা Sentence এ অবশ্যই একটা Finite Verb থাকবে, তবে সেই Sentence Non-Finite verb থাকতে পারে। [এই Post কম পক্ষে দুইবার পড়তে হবে]
