About the Facilitator:
Prof. Dr. M. M. Nurul Absar is an award-winning case writer and educator with a strong track record in developing and teaching business cases. His work has received international recognition, with three of his teaching cases (co-authored) published by Emerald Publishing, a leading international publisher of academic and business cases. His cases are used in business schools around the world as classroom teaching resources.

His case portfolio includes cases on BSRM, Niloy Motors (Hero Motorcycle), and DBL Group, developed in collaboration and permission from the respective organizations.

He has also undertaken specialized training in case writing and case teaching under three renowned institutions, Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta, Management Development Institute (MDI) Delhi, and Singapore Management University (SMU).

The 50th meeting of the University Management Committee (UMC), Chittagong Independent University (CIU) was held on Thursday, 03 September 2026, at the CIU Conference Room.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and Chairman of the UMC Professor Dr. M. M. Nurul Absar presided over the meeting.

The meeting addressed a range of important matters related to the University’s academic development, administration, student enrollment for the Autumn 2026 semester, branding, and admissions. Discussions also focused on the current admissions status, review and approval of academic and administrative policies, and other key matters concerning the University.

Through such regular collaborative discussions, and informed decision-making, CIU continues to strengthen its commitment to academic excellence, effective governance, and continuous institutional development.

The meeting was attended by the Deans of different Schools, Academic Heads, the Registrar and Member Secretary of the Committee, the Director-in-Charge of Finance & Accounts, the Controller of Examinations (CoE), the Assistant Registrar (on invitation) also attended the meeting.
