The Department of Architecture, Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET), proudly congratulates Rabiul Islam Remon (2018 Series) on his distinguished achievement at the AYDA International Awards 2025/26.

As the National Gold Winner in the Architecture Category from Bangladesh, Rabiul represented the country at the international awards in Bangkok, Thailand, where his project “HERI-[TRADE]: Future Proofing Neglected Heritage Through Cultural Industrialisation (CCCC)” was presented among 17 winning projects selected from over 9,000 entries worldwide.

Through HERI-[TRADE], Rabiul explores a new approach to heritage conservation, connecting culture, community, commerce, and conservation to create a more sustainable future for neglected heritage.

We take great pride in seeing our graduate represent Bangladesh and RUET on an international platform and bring attention to the often-overlooked heritage of our country.

A Proud Milestone for Architecture, RUET! 🎉

The Department of Architecture, RUET, is delighted to announce that our Architectural Program has secured Unconditional Accreditation by the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB), effective from 1 July 2026.

The accreditation was unanimously recommended by the Board of Architectural Education (BoAE), IAB, and approved by the 26th Executive Council of IAB, recognizing the program’s fulfillment of the required academic standards.

This is a significant milestone for our department and a reflection of the collective dedication of our faculty members, students, alumni, and the university administration.

We are grateful to IAB for this recognition and to everyone whose continued efforts and support have contributed to this achievement.

A proud moment for the Department of Architecture, RUET and a new chapter in our journey towards excellence. 🥳

Department of Architecture, MIST offers a Master of Architecture (M.Arch) program with Heritage Conservation and History, Theory & Criticism as two of its core academic and research streams. These streams include courses such as:

• Heritage Study
• History and Theory of Conservation
• Diagnosis and Repair in Conservation
• Heritage Management
• Architectural Theories and Criticism
• Architectural Historiography
• Architectural Discourse
• Society and Architecture of Bengal

This program is an excellent opportunity for architects to pursue postgraduate study with a focus on Heritage Conservation and Architectural History, Theory & Criticism.

The Department of Architecture, Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) is delighted to welcome Rabiul Islam Remon (2018 Series), Farah Jamal (2018 Series), and Md. Rafsan Zaman (2017 Series) as the newest members of our faculty, who officially joined the department on 1 July 2026.

It is a matter of immense pride to see our own graduates return to their alma mater as educators. Their journey from students of this department to faculty members reflects their dedication, hard work, and commitment to the discipline of architecture.

We are proud to welcome back Md. Nazmul Hoda, Assistant Professor, following the successful completion of his Master's degree at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia.

His master's thesis, "Construction of Regional Identity in Contemporary Saudi Arabia: The Perspective of Local Architects," investigates how architects in Saudi Arabia perceive, express, shape, and reconstruct architectural identity within a rapidly transforming built environment. The research develops a comprehensive framework for assessing architectural identity and contributes to a more rigorous understanding of culturally responsive and regionally grounded contemporary architecture, supporting the broader discourse on architectural identity and the aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030.

We warmly congratulate him on this significant academic achievement and look forward to his continued contributions to teaching, research, and the academic life of the department.
