রাবিতে আইবিএ’র পরিচালক হিসেবে যোগ দিলেন প্রফেসর ড. মো. শরিফুল ইসলাম স্যার।

অধ্যাপক ড. মো. শরিফুল ইসলাম রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের (রাবি) ব্যবসায় প্রশাসন ইনস্টিটিউট- আইবিএ’র পরিচালক হিসেবে আজ যোগদান করছেন। তাকে পরবর্তী তিন বছরের জন্য এই পদে নিযুক্ত করা হয়েছে।

ড. ইসলাম ২০০৪ সালে আইবিএতে প্রভাষক হিসেবে যোগদান করেন এবং ২০১৮ সালে অধ্যাপক পদে পদোন্নতি পান। তিনি উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষায় বাণিজ্য বিভাগ থেকে যশোর বোর্ডে প্রথম স্থান অর্জনের পর রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের হিসাব বিজ্ঞান বিভাগ থেকে বিবিএস (সম্মান) এ প্রথম শ্রেণীতে প্রথম স্থান এবং এমবিএ তে ব্যবসায় শিক্ষা অনুষদে প্রথম স্থান অধিকার করেন।
পরবর্তীতে তিনি সুইডেনের ইয়নশপিং ইন্টারন্যাশনাল বিজনেস স্কুল থেকে এমএসসি ডিগ্রী, রাবি’র আইবিএ থেকে এমফিল এবং রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে পিএইচডি ডিগ্রী অর্জন করেন।

ড. ইসলাম ব্যবসায় শিক্ষা বিষয় ছাড়াও মুদ্রা বিষয়ক গবেষণায় নিয়োজিত আছেন। দেশ এবং বিদেশের বিভিন্ন জার্নালে তার ২৬ টি প্রবন্ধ এবং ৩ টি বুকচ্যাপ্টার প্রকাশিত হয়েছে। এছাড়াও ভারতের মনোহর পাবলিশার্স থেকে ১ টি গ্রন্থসহ তার প্রকাশিত মোট গ্রন্থের সংখ্যা ৬টি। মুদ্রা গবেষণা নিয়ে তার কাজের স্বীকৃতি স্বরূপ লন্ডন ভিত্তিক ‘কাউন্সিল অব দি ওরিয়েন্টাল নিউমিজমিটিক সোসাইটি’ (Council of the Oriental Numismatic Society) ২০১৮ সালে তাকে ‘অশোকা পুরস্কার’ এ ভূষিত করে।

অত্যন্ত দুঃখের সাথে জানাচ্ছি যে বিবিএ ৮ম ব্যাচের মেধাবী শিক্ষার্থী দ্বীপ মাহমুদ চোখে গুলিবিদ্ধ হয়ে উন্নত চিকিৎসার জন্য ঢাকাতে চিকিৎসার জন্য পাঠানো হয়েছে। আমরা দ্বীপের চিকিৎসার সার্বিক খোঁজ খবর রাখছি। তার চিকিৎসার বিষয়টি আইবিএ এর পক্ষ থেকে সর্বোচ্চ গুরুত্ব দিয়ে দেখা হচ্ছে। আমাদের গোচরীভূত হয়েছে আইবিএ'র একজন সাবেক শিক্ষার্থী অফিসিয়াল প্যাড বানিয়ে বিক্যাশে আর্থিক সহযোগিতা চেয়ে ফেসবুকে পোষ্ট করা হয়েছে। এমন আহবানের সাথে আইবিএ'র কোন সম্পর্ক নেই। তবে কেউ ব্যক্তিগত ভাবে সহায়তা করলে তাতে কোন বাধা নেই। আমরা দ্বীপের আশু সুস্থতা কামনা করছি।
