A proud moment for Bangladesh on the global stage.

Rajshahi University Model United Nations Association (RUMUNA) warmly congratulates Dr. Khalilur Rahman on his election as President of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, defeating Cyprus's candidate Ambassador Andreas S Kakouris in a closely contested vote. The election was held under Rule 30 of the General Assembly's Rules of Procedure. In line with the UN's regional rotation system, the presidency for the 81st session was allocated to the Asia-Pacific Group.This remarkable achievement reflects Bangladesh’s growing diplomatic influence and the confidence of the international community in our nation’s leadership.

As advocates of diplomacy, dialogue, and global cooperation, we celebrate this milestone with immense pride. May his tenure contribute meaningfully to fostering understanding, collaboration, and progress among nations. He will proudly represent Bangladesh and forge connectivity, dialogue, and cooperation in addressing multilateral, shared challenges

29th May, the International Day of UN Peacekeepers, the Rajshahi University Model United Nations Association pays tribute to the brave individuals who dedicate their lives to protecting peace and humanity across the globe, often serving far from their homes and loved ones in some of the world’s most challenging environments.

Since the first United Nations peacekeeping mission in 1948, more than one million peacekeepers, widely recognized as the “Blue Helmets,” have participated in over 70 missions worldwide. Their contributions have been vital in maintaining international peace and security, protecting human rights, and assisting communities and nations in rebuilding after conflict. Through courage, resilience, and compassion, they continue to represent the true spirit of global solidarity and cooperation.

Bangladesh remains one of the leading contributors to UN peacekeeping operations. The dedication, professionalism, and sacrifice demonstrated by Bangladeshi peacekeepers have earned worldwide respect and recognition. With thousands currently serving in missions around the world, they continue to uphold the nation’s proud legacy of commitment to peace and humanitarian service. We also remember with deep respect those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, alongside those who continue to serve with honor today.

Peace is not merely an aspiration — it is a shared responsibility. Let us continue working together to uphold and strengthen it for future generations.

Eid al-Adha, also known as the "Festival of Sacrifice", is the second of the two major Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide each year and is considered the holier of the two. It commemorates the unwavering faith of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), who was willing to sacrifice his son Ismaeel in obedience to Allah's command.

As the blessed days of Hajj unfold and the echoes of *Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik* fill the hearts of millions of pilgrims, this sacred occasion reminds us of devotion, sacrifice, unity, and submission to Allah.

The day begins with a special prayer of two rakats followed by a sermon (khutbah). Eid celebrations commence after the descent of the Hujjaj—the pilgrims performing Hajj—from Mount Arafat, near Mecca. The Qurbani (sacrifice) may be performed until sunset on the 13th day of Dhu al-Hijjah.

On this sacred occasion, Rajshahi University Model United Nations Association (RUMUNA) extends its warmest wishes to all.
Eid Mubarak! May this Eid bring happiness, peace, prosperity, and the spiritual blessings of Hajj to you and your loved ones.
