It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of the father of our respected faculty, Nawshad Ahmed Chowdhury , today, August 8, 2026. The Janazah prayer will be held today after Isha at Dargah.

We pray to Allah Almighty to grant the departed soul the highest place in Jannatul Ferdous and grant Nawshad sir and his family the strength and patience to bear this profound loss. Ameen.

We pray to Allah Almighty to grant the departed soul the highest place in Jannatul Ferdous and grant Ms. Nisa and her family the strength and patience to bear this profound loss. Ameen.

SYNC WITH SWE

The Department of Software Engineering hosted SYNC WITH SWE, an evening where our alumni came back to talk to current students.

Mahbub Khandaker opened with a welcome speech, followed by a short video on the Forum's journey so far.

Then the alumni took over. They spoke about the Forum's vision and activities, senior-junior bonding, competitive programming, UI/UX design, mobile app development, the IT industry, internships, and how to actually use LinkedIn instead of just having a profile on it. Different fields, same honesty.

Professor Mohammad Ishrat Ibne Ismail, Pro Vice-Chancellor & Dean of the School of Science & Technology, joined us for the session, along with our Department Head, and both spoke directly to the students.

The Q&A that followed brought out some of the more honest moments of the programme, with students asking about failures as much as successes.

The programme ended with a cultural segment from our current students.

Thanks to every alumnus, teachers and students who made yesterday what it was.

SYNC with SWE is an interactive engagement program designed to bridge generations of SWE students — through open conversations, an interactive Q&A session and meaningful networking.

The evening will also feature cultural performances and refreshments.

Sprints, scrapes, and way too many laughs. Turns out the SWE community brings the same energy to the field as it does to a deadline. Teamwork just looked a little different this time :)

Glimpses from our seminar on "Introduction to the Industrial IT Sector," held in collaboration with IT Lab Solutions Ltd.
The session provided students with valuable insights into industry-expected skills, professional standards in workplace environments and the diverse career pathways available within industrial IT — equipping attendees with a clearer and more practical understanding of the field.

Topic: Introduction to Industrial IT Sector

The session will walk through the skills the industry currently expects from graduates, the professional standards that come up in actual workplace settings, and the career paths available within industrial IT.
