A Distinguished Contribution to the Future of Higher Education Leadership

The Department of Business Administration, Sylhet International University, proudly congratulates our Honourable Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Ashraful Alam, on his distinguished selection to participate in the UGC–HEAT Vice-Chancellors’ Dialogue: “Shaping the Future of Higher Education.”

Held on 21 August 2026 at BRAC CDM, Savar, the dialogue brought together Vice-Chancellors, policymakers, academic leaders, and distinguished educationists to discuss the future transformation of higher education in Bangladesh.

The forum focused on key priorities, including academic excellence, quality enhancement, graduate employability, entrepreneurship, research and innovation, university–industry collaboration, digital transformation, internationalisation, and the alignment of higher education with national and global development needs.

The Department of Business Administration proudly recognizes this achievement as a reflection of Professor Dr. Md. Ashraful Alam’s visionary leadership, academic excellence, and commitment to advancing quality education. His valuable contribution to this national dialogue will support the continued development of a progressive, inclusive, and globally competitive higher education system.

🎓 Celebrating Academic Brilliance: Student Excellence Awards Ceremony at Sylhet International University 🎓

​The Department of Business Administration at Sylhet International University (SIU) successfully organized the prestigious Student Excellence Awards ceremony, celebrating the remarkable academic achievements and talents of its students.
​In this edition, two outstanding students from the Spring 2026 session were honored with the Student Excellence Award for their exemplary performance.
​The ceremony was graced by the presence of our esteemed Chief Guest, Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashraful Alam, Honorable Vice-Chancellor, SIU. Joining him as Special Guests were Professor Nitai Chandra Chanda, Honorable Treasurer, SIU, and Professor Shamsul Alam, Dean, Faculty of Business & Social Sciences. The event was presided over by the Session Chair, Dr. Mohammad Rezaul Kabir, Head, Department of Business Administration, SIU.
​Alongside the Excellence Awards, prizes were also distributed to the winners of the Business Quiz Competition and the Business Case Competition, both organized under the department's supervision. The achievers across all categories had the honor of receiving their awards directly from the Chief Guest.

The Department of Business Administration at Sylhet International University (SIU), in collaboration with NRB Bank, successfully organized a 2-day long program titled "Neighborhood Campaign". The event was graced by the presence of our distinguished Chief Guest, Professor Dr. Md. Ashraful Alam, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of SIU, We were also honored to have Professor Nitai Chandra Chanda, Honorable Treasurer of SIU and Professor Shamsul Alam, Dean, Faculty of Business and Social Sciences, SIU as the Special Guest, along with the active participation of all faculty members and enthusiastic students from the Department of Business Administration.
During the campaign, students engaged in insightful discussions covering various banking operations, financial activities, and contemporary banking practices.
