It
was first started as a Jamea Madania Madrasha on
the 5th June in 1974 , adjacent to the Kazir
Bazar Mosque. On the bank of famous Surma
river, a hut was built for school, made with
bamboo- fence shaded with tin. Initially, the
students of the school were 15-16. By the grace of Allah, just within the end of nine
years, Sylhet Municipal Corporation allocated
almost one acre valuable land from Swe

Colony of Kazir Bazar. At that time, Academic
room, Mosque, nothing were build with brick,
every room of the Madrasha were made with
bamboo-fence shaded with tin. In spite of being many limitations the number of
students got increased and quality of education
became more developed day by day. Now by the mercy of Allah and with the help of
muslim brothers and sisters, Jamea Madania has
become one of the biggest Madrashas in
Bangladesh. The popularity of this Madrasha has
spreaded not only in Bangladesh but also in
abroad. Now,the campus of the Jamea Madania
has been enriched with Education
Building,Hostel,Jame Mosque,Central Library, Hifj-
khana,Darul Hadis, Mufti Class, Corpse washing
room. Moreover, from the Nursery to full primary,
secondary to higher secondary, Degree level,
Hadis department or title course, Fotowa and
Hifjul Quran department have been masterfully
directed by around 46 trained teachers. Arabic,English,Bengali,Social Science,Tafsir,Hadis,
fekah and other subjects are being taught
carefully by the expert teachers. Therefore, in
every year about 90-95 students pass out as
Mufti & Maulana with the Title degree.
40-45 students come out as Hafize Quran. In the
final exam of Bangladesh Madrasha Education
Board. The students of Jamea Madania have been
persistently improving their result in every year
scoring first class and second class marks. The management of this Madrasha is really glad
that after passing out from this institution, the
students are remarkably doing well in the country
and abroad in respect of social service and
educational development. At present, 15 hundred students are studying in
this institution where most of them poor and
orphan. Jamea Madrasah is solely providing
accommodation, meal, books, tuition, cloths and
medical treatment with free of charge for the
students. There are 46 teachers and 35 other
staffs are involved with this institution. To run this
big Madrasah properly, in every month about 7
lacks taka is being spent which is around 75 lacks
taka per year. You would be surprised to learn
that this institution yet to get any personal
earning resource or fund, moreover, the
government does not also offer any kind of
support. This Madrasah, since the foundation day,
is struggling for its economical crises as it has bee
running by help and mercy of the the muslim
brothers and sisters. The Jamea Madrasah is whole-heartedly appealing
all the beloved of Islam and affluent muslim
brothers and sisters to donate liberally for the
better existence of this institution. Please extend your hand generously for helping
orphan and poor students. Please use your Zakat
and Sadaqat money as an impetus to go forward
of this Islamic University to its sublime goal and
be a part of its success.
