As a result this institution has been establishing its superiority both in curricular and co-curricular activities. Special Programs and different competitive programs are arranged on Annual sports, Annual Milad Mahfil, cultural program, celebration of Bangla new year and national Days. Besides, reception for talented student and respectful felicitation to teachers in college in special fields are offered every year. This institution has been able to acquire appraisal in the field of inter college debate, cultural competition, essay competition and education co-curricular activities. With the combining effects of students, teachers, guidance and most importantly for the skilled management, the result of this institution is unique one. "দক্ষিণ সুরমা সরকারি কলেজের শিক্ষক পরিষদ নির্বাচন সম্পন্ন"

উৎসবমুখর ও প্রাণবন্ত পরিবেশে দক্ষিণ সুরমা সরকারি কলেজের দুই বছর মেয়াদি শিক্ষক পরিষদের নির্বাচন সম্পন্ন হয়েছে। গত রবিবার (১১ জানুয়ারি, ২০২৬) কলেজের অধ্যাপক মোস্তাক হোসেন শিক্ষাবিদ মিলনায়তনে এ নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

​নির্বাচনের উল্লেখযোগ্য দিকসমূহ ​এবারের নির্বাচনের বিশেষ বৈশিষ্ট্য ছিল সরাসরি ব্যালট পেপারের মাধ্যমে ভোটদান। প্রথমবারের মতো এই পদ্ধতিতে ভোট গ্রহণ করায় সাধারণ শিক্ষকদের মধ্যে ব্যাপক উৎসাহ-উদ্দীপনা লক্ষ্য করা গেছে। সকাল ১০টা থেকে শুরু হয়ে ভোট গ্রহণ বিরতিহীনভাবে দুপুর ১২:৩০ মিনিট পর্যন্ত চলে।

​নির্বাচিত প্রতিনিধিগণ ​নির্বাচন শেষে ফলাফল ঘোষণা করা হয়। এতে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদগুলোতে যারা নির্বাচিত হয়েছেন:

​সম্পাদক: মোহাম্মদ ময়নুল হক (বিভাগীয় প্রধান, হিসাববিজ্ঞান বিভাগ)। তিনি বিপুল ভোটে বিজয়ী হয়েছেন।

​যুগ্ম সম্পাদক: মো. মুহিবুর রহমান
(প্রভাষক, ইংরেজি বিভাগ)।

​কোষাধ্যক্ষ: হুমায়রা বেগম মণি (প্রভাষক, দর্শন বিভাগ)।

​নির্বাচন পরিচালনা ও ধন্যবাদ জ্ঞাপন
​নির্বাচন কমিশনার হিসেবে সুষ্ঠুভাবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন জীববিজ্ঞান বিভাগের বিভাগীয় প্রধান কাজরী রানী ধর এবং ব্যবস্থাপনা বিভাগের প্রভাষক মো. গিলমান আলী।

​নির্বাচন শেষে কলেজের অধ্যক্ষ প্রফেসর ইফতেখার আলম একটি সুষ্ঠু ও সুন্দর নির্বাচন উপহার দেওয়ার জন্য সংশ্লিষ্ট সবাইকে আন্তরিক ধন্যবাদ ও কৃতজ্ঞতা জ্ঞাপন করেন। তিনি আশা প্রকাশ করেন যে, নবনির্বাচিত এই পরিষদ কলেজের শিক্ষা পরিবেশের উন্নয়ন ও শিক্ষকদের কল্যাণে কার্যকর ভূমিকা রাখবে।

ইসলামী ব্যাংক বাংলাদেশ পিএলসি ও দক্ষিণ সুরমা সরকারি কলেজ, সিলেট-এর মধ্যে ২৪ আগস্ট ২০২৫, রবিবার একটি কর্পোরেট চুক্তি স্বাক্ষরিত হয়েছে। এ চুক্তির ফলে এ কলেজের শিক্ষার্থীরা সকল একাডেমিক ফি সরাসরি ইসলামী ব্যাংকের যেকোনো শাখা, উপশাখা এবং এজেন্ট আউটলেট বা অনলাইনে সেলফিন ও এম-ক্যাশের মাধ্যমে জমা দিতে পারবে। অনুষ্ঠানে ব্যাংকের এক্সিকিউটিভ ভাইস প্রেসিডেন্ট ও সিলেট জোনপ্রধান মোঃ রেজাউল ইসলাম প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন। এসময় দক্ষিণ সুরমা সরকারি কলেজের অধ্যক্ষ ইফতেখার আলম, ব্যাংকের জিন্দাবাজার শাখাপ্রধান মোহাম্মদ আকবর উদ্দিনসহ উভয় প্রতিষ্ঠানের নির্বাহী ও কর্মকর্তাবৃন্দ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
