SGC Freshers’ Reception 2026

16/09/2026

A little message for our new SGCians

Every year, a significant number of students join SGC’s Science Department after missing out on their dream college. Naturally, many of them feel disappointed and upset at first.

But from our own experience, letting that disappointment stay with you for too long simply isn’t worth it. In HSC life, your own effort and consistency matter far more than the name of your college. And honestly, the differences between colleges are not as huge as they may seem from the outside. After a few months, students everywhere are busy facing the same challenges.

So, don’t waste your time feeling bad about where you ended up. Be proud of your college, make the most of your time here, and focus on the journey ahead.

Best of luck to everyone!

End of the day
