'CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS'

The English Department Debating Club (EDDC) and Chatok – English Department Cultural Club are pleased to invite submissions from the students of the English Department for the upcoming departmental magazine.

A magazine is more than a collection of writings—it is a space where voices, ideas, memories, and imagination come together. Through this publication, we aim to bring together the diverse perspectives and creative expressions of the students of our department.

We invite you to share your words, thoughts, experiences, and stories with the community.

Submission Categories

✦ Short Story — Up to 250 words
✦ Poetry — Up to 25 lines
✦ Essay — Concise and focused on a specific subject
✦ Memoir — A brief reflection on experiences or memories related to the English Department

Language: Bengali or English

Your submission may explore literature, culture, society, contemporary issues, personal reflections, memories, or any other appropriate form of creative expression.For memoirs, submissions that capture meaningful experiences, memorable moments, or cherished memories associated with the English Department are especially encouraged.

A good run for EDDC!

Our team—Marzan Akter Ilma, Shahriaz Ratul & Mehedi Hasan—represented EDDC at an inter-departmental debate tournament hosted by DHP and made it all the way to the Semi-Finals!

Congratulations to Marzan, Ratul & Mehedi on a commendable performance so far. Moreover, Marzan Akter Ilma has broke the Third Speaker which makes this achievement more valuable keeping the winning spirit alive. The Semi-Final and Final rounds will be held on dates to be announced later.
Until then, we look forward to seeing the team back on the floor. Best of luck! 🗣️🔥

Team EDDC বিপ্লব in the pre-semi-finals!!!!

Team EDDC বিপ্লব— Nusrat Jahan Sonia, Sanghita Mallik & Arafat Rahman Rabby — represented EDDC at an inter-departmental debate tournament hosted by DHP and made it to the Pre-Semi-Finals.

The team performed well throughout the tournament, putting forward their arguments and competing strongly across the rounds and making their way all through the pre-semi-finals. Certainly, their performance adds a valuable experience to their debating journey and to the achievements of EDDC.

Congratulations to Sonia, Sanghita & Arafat for representing EDDC with their best efforts. ❤️

For the very first time, the voices, memories, creativity, and experiences of our students across generations are coming together in one permanent collection — the department’s first-ever magazine. 📖

From the pages of our classrooms to the memories of our corridors, from creative expressions to reflections and ideas, this publication will bring together the many colours that make our department what it is.

This is not merely a magazine. It is a collection of voices. A reflection of generations. A record of our legacy. And we are proud to be part of this journey through a collaborative initiative of:

সুষ্ঠুভাবে সম্পন্ন হলো ইংলিশ ডিপার্টমেন্ট ডিবেটিং ক্লাব (EDDC) আয়োজিত প্রথম ব্রিটিশ পার্লামেন্টারি প্রদর্শনী বিতর্ক। 🎙️

ইডিডিসির আমন্ত্রণে সাড়া দিয়ে জেএনইউডিএস-এর চারটি টিমের অংশগ্রহণে আয়োজিত এই প্রদর্শনী বিতর্কে উঠে এসেছে যুক্তি, বিশ্লেষণ, তাৎক্ষণিক চিন্তাশক্তি ও বুদ্ধিদীপ্ত উপস্থাপনার এক দারুণ সমন্বয়।
