Many graduates with an interest in international affairs experience difficulties in their search for a job. Unpaid internships and the necessity of job experience are just two examples of the many obstacles young professionals face in the tough race to employment. We believe that
it is necessary to provide students and graduates with the opportunity to gain an insight into the many but sometimes easily overlooked possibilities the broad labour market related to international affairs has to offer. To offer this kind of perspective and to help bridge the gap between education and employment, AMUN, EKA, IP, PSW and VVN Youth decided to join forces and organise a career fair in international affairs at the University of Antwerp. The first edition of this event offered you a range of activities, including:
• A range of information booths, where you could engage in conversation with professionals of various organisations in international affairs;
• A corner dedicated to improving your resume, including a professional who could check resumes and photo corner;
• A series of short speaker sessions, during which young professionals could elaborate on their first career steps, followed by a Q&A. We will be back with these and other activities at the Career Fair in International Affairs 2018!
