🎓 A great start to the new academic year for our BA in Global Business and Entrepreneurship students!

On 2 September, students, alumni and the programme team came together at BSoG for an evening of networking, shared experiences and conversations over pizza 🍕.

From inspiring alumni career stories to an engaging discussion with Programme Director Max Nagel, the event was a great opportunity to connect across years, exchange advice and strengthen our BSoG Business community.

🎓 A warm welcome to our new MA students!

On 2 September, we were delighted to welcome a new cohort of students joining our MA in Global Security and Strategy and MA in Diplomacy and Global Governance programmes at the Brussels School of Governance.

As part of Orientation Day, students met BSoG Vice-Dean for Education, Sven Van Kerckhoven, and took part in sessions covering everything from academic services and internships to healthcare, wellbeing and student life in Brussels.

🇪🇺 The following day, they headed out to explore the European Quarter, discovering more about the institutions and organisations at the heart of European decision-making.

🎓 Congratulations, Dr Fabio Figiaconi!

We are delighted to announce that Fabio Figiaconi successfully defended his PhD thesis on 3 September 2026.

His thesis, “Do the Strong Do What They Can? How Great Powers Respond to Secondary State Hedging During Competitive Eras”, was supervised by Professor Luis Simon Simón.

Many thanks to the PhD jury: Professor Eva Pejsova, Professor Zack Cooper, Professor Giulia Tercovich, Professor Tongfi Kim and Professor Gorana Grgić, chaired by Professor Florian Trauner.
