On Wednesday 1 of March, the annual gala evening of student associations will take place in the Aula Academica of UGent. On this evening an old custom will be revived: the DSAwards. These are awards in 13 categories in which associations can excel.
Now it is up to you to nominate associations for a particular award! Good luck 😉

Sustainights, Making Tomorrow & Heerlijk verbeeld
Geëngageerde studenten met een hart voor duurzaamheid en diversiteit en inclusie welkom op Making Tomorrow!

Op dinsdag 11 oktober trapt de Green Office de reeks van sustainights af met een avond waar we duurzame & inclusieve studentenacties, -organisaties en -projecten in de kijker zetten en waar je zelf mee aan de thematafels kan schuiven om de handen uit de mouwen te steken. Iedereen is welkom vanaf 18h, hapje en drankje inbegrepen.

Op de Sustainights ben je als Gentse student welkom in de Green Hub voor leuke workshops, interessante sprekers of om zelf aan een duurzaam project te sleutelen, telkens om 20h op dinsdag. Daarnaast organiseert de Green Office samen met Oikos, Reset.Vlaanderen en het Masereelfonds vijf Heerlijk Verbeeld avonden doorheen het jaar, telkens op donderdagavond om 19:30 in het krookcafé.

Sustainights & Making Tomorrow
Committed students with a heart for sustainability and diversity and inclusion welcome at Making Tomorrow!

On Tuesday 11 October, the Green Office kicks off the Sustainights series with an evening where we highlight sustainable & inclusive student actions, organisations and projects, and where you can join us at the themed tables to get involved yourself. Everyone is welcome from 18h, snacks and drinks included.

On Sustainights, Ghent students are welcome in the Green Hub for fun workshops, interesting speakers or to tinker with a sustainable project themselves, each time at 8 pm on Tuesday. You can find the full program here.

Hi! My name is Sara-Lynn and I’m currently a master student in sociology at UGent. For my thesis, I’m researching the housing market in Ghent, and specifically the struggles that international students face when looking for accommodation in the city. Because of this, it is very important that I have sufficient data coming from the international community in Ghent. If enough international students fill in the survey, I can hopefully produce a study that will accurately lay bare the problems and can serve as a first stepping stone towards more inclusive policies. The current IK Board is bound expire, and we are looking engaged and internationally minded students in order to replace us oldies (but goldies)

What are we looking for? and why?

• President: the face of the organisation, external affairs (VKV), Coordinating the IK
• Vice president: Supportive role on meetings and events. Keeps an oversight of all documents and helps members with their duties.
• Treasurer: Subsidies expert for the IK & contact point for treasures of IK associations
• PR: In charge of updating and posting on our social media about the events of our members and other stakeholders.
New function: Event: creating Events for the IK

How and why should someone run for these positions?
You are among the top circles of student associations and the highest authority for representing international students. Next to this, you get all of the other associations underneath your wings. The IK is a growing organization due to its members, but also due to the people in the IK board. And as an added bonus, you get to experience all mayor events VIP, get to chat with the highest functions at our University, and you get to meet the most amazing people from all over the world.

How to apply?

1.Please send us your motivation on why you are the ideal candidate to fill in a function for the IK board, please list at least two positions! Mail @ [email protected]. Deadline 15th of April!
2. Be present at the offline General Assembly on 20th of April @ 19.30, location will be send by mail.
