📢 Dear followers,
We are excited to announce the Ghent Institute for International and European Studies (GIES)!
This newly established research group is the result of a merger between CEUS and the GIIS-Ghent Institute for International Studies, as agreed by the professorial staff of the two groups at the end of 2020.
🎉 On September 15, this decision officially entered into force, as we held the first Council meeting of the new research group! We also celebrated the merger with a team-building activity and drinks among new colleagues.
🌍 GIES will build a research profile that encompasses six interrelated research themes: (1) political economy, (2) climate-energy-environment, (3) development, (4) geopolitics and strategy, (5) (inter)regionalism and (6) governance.
🇪🇺 Given the extensive focus on the EU among our researchers, the EU will take up a transversal place within GIES’ thematic profile.
We welcome you all to follow our new official page on Facebook: Ghent Institute for International and European Studies - GIES
This GIIS page will not keep up with the current goings-on of the research group anymore, so follow this page or find us on Twitter https://twitter.com/GIESGhent to stay up to date with our activities!
