Another successful partnership with 🤩

Our second-year Film Projects students put everything they learned over the past two years into practice, collaborating with influencers to create social media format videos about new NYX Cosmetics products.

To thank us for the collaboration, NYX Cosmetics awarded €5.000 to the school, helping us continue to develop the talent of tomorrow 🙌

Curious to see what our students created? Keep an eye on the social channels. The videos will be launching very soon 👀

Number 18: The love for C++ 💙

C++ has been part of the curriculum since day one and remains one of the foundations of our Game Development major 💻

And thanks to our incredibly dedicated znd enthusiastic C++ teachers, DAE kept evolving with the programming language.

This year, this even led to the organization of our very own C++ conference! It brought together students, professionals, and some of the biggest names in the C++ community 🤩

Number 17: Celebrating our students 🤩

At DAE, we always try to hype up students who create amazing work. We do that with two very prestigious (and definitely not made-up 🤫) awards 🏆

Our first year students in VFX, 3D Animation, GGP, and IGP compete for the Golden Geovanni Award: the prize for the best diorama in the 3D1 course.

Second year GGP students can earn the Golden Vent Award for creating the best environment in the Environments 1 course.

A small tradition for now, but one we're hoping to continue for many years to come ❤️

Winners included in this post: Elaïne Kunst and Finn Bogaert

Number 15: Group Projects 🙌

Every year, our third years form their own game and film studios.

For 12 weeks, they work almost full-time on a single project, collaborating with students from different majors. Just like they would in a real production environment. 🔥

Some teams work for external partners. Others bring a personal passion project to life. Either way, the results are always impressive!

Games, short films, animations,... all created by teams of 4 to 6 students in just 12 weeks.

Honestly, it's super impressive what they can achieve in such a short amount of time! ✨️

Every year, Unwrap brings together students, DAE veterans, industry professionals, researchers, and artists for two daysbof talks, workshops, networking, and inspiration ✨️

And thanks to the career fair, it's also the place where students find their internships or meet their future employers 🔥

Number 13: the evolution of DAE ✨️

Back in 2006, we started with one single curriculum, educating technical artists. 154 students showed up on day one.

Today, we've grown into a degree with six fully recognised majors covering games, VFX, and 3D animation - welcoming more than 1700 students from all over the world 🤩

A lot of growth, but one thing stayed the same: the passion for helping students to create amazing things! 🔥

Number 11: the people behind the scenes ✨️

While our students always have been at the heart of DAE, none of this would be possible without the teachers and staff pushing them to be their best selves.

From teachers, researchers and administration to community managers, technical support, and cleaning staff. To everyone working behind the scenes: thank you for helping make DAE what it is today! 🙏

20 posts for 20 years of DAE 🤩

Number 10: Projects with external partners - the L'Oréal Group ✨️

At DAE, we don't only create for film or games.

Since 2023, we've been collaborating with L'Oréal Professionnel and NYX Professional Make Up Benelux, exploring how digital art and real-time technology can be used beyond the entertainment industry.

The collaboration includes competitions, creative campaigns made by students, and even internship opportunities at the L'Oréal Benelux headquarters in Amsterdam. 🙌

One of the biggest highlights was the Style & Colour Trophy. DAE student Natalia Grytczuk went on to win not only the Benelux selection, but also the global finals against entries from (among others) China and Brazil 🏆

Also big shoutout to NYX Professional Make Up Benelux for sponsoring our 2026 Prom with three amazing MUA's and a happy hour at the bar 💙

Featuring work by Natalia Grytczuk, Valeria Balaneva, and Tatyana Petrova.
