Howest Industrial Product Design is proud to announce their 2nd AI Visualization Techniques for Product Designers One-day live workshop, June 2 at IDC Kortrijk, Marksesteenweg 58, Kortrijk - Belgium

At Howest - Ba. Industrieel Productontwerpen, we see AI not as a shortcut or a replacement, but as an amplifier of creativity.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to use AI to expand your creative space, exploring more and broader directions without losing (too much) control.

We’ll practice writing clear, intentional prompts, combine sketching with AI to quickly visualize and iterate on ideas, and develop them into more detailed concepts, all in a fraction of the time compared to a traditional workflow.

AI generates variation. You provide direction.

This workshop is designed for conceptual and explorative product designers with a basic understanding of the design process. No prior AI experience required.

New postgraduate

The transition to a circular economy requires designers who can think beyond products and understand how materials, processes, organisations, and value chains are interconnected. In this programme, you’ll learn how design decisions impact sustainability and value creation, while exploring circular strategies that go beyond recycling alone.

Through real-life business cases, expert guidance, and hands-on projects, you will develop a systemic and circular mindset, gain insight into leadership and collaboration, and learn how to create more sustainable systems and innovations for the future.

The programme is aimed at students with a background or affinity in industrial product design, product development, industrial design, or related design disciplines. Candidates should hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree and submit a CV and motivation letter in English. The application deadline is the end of August 2026.

Voor het tweede jaar op rij winnen onze studenten Industrieel Productontwerpen (IPO) van HOWEST University of Applied Sciences de nationaal georganiseerde AGORIA. Student Challenge!
Met hun team Arok Studio overtuigden Cesar Bracaval, Kobe Maes, Jotte Vaes en Rune Bultynck de jury in een competitie met sterke bachelor- én masterstudenten uit verschillende ontwerpopleidingen in België.

De uitdaging kwam van Superellipse en focuste op een actuele maatschappelijke vraag: hoe kunnen we meer groen integreren in stedelijke omgevingen zoals gevels, rooftops en terrassen op een manier die betaalbaar, duurzaam, modulair én onderhoudsarm is?

De studenten ontwikkelden een innovatief concept dat inzet op modulariteit, duurzaamheid, betaalbaarheid en optimale groeiomstandigheden voor planten. Een mooi voorbeeld van hoe design, engineering en duurzaamheid samen kunnen bijdragen aan klimaatbestendige en leefbare steden.

🎓 Design the future at Howest

In een snel veranderende wereld is het anticiperen op de toekomst geen luxe meer, maar een noodzaak. In dit derdejaarsproject verkenden studenten toekomstscenario’s voor Renson—en tonen ze hoe AI doelgericht aangestuurd wordt door een productdesigner als krachtige tool in het ontwerpproces.

Bij de Bachelor Industrieel Productontwerpen leer je ideeën omzetten in slimme, duurzame én sterk vormgegeven producten. Je werkt met ontwerpmethodologie, denkt user-centered en werkt concepten uit tot industrieel produceerbare oplossingen. Je leert ook je ideeën overtuigend presenteren.

Bij Interieur Productontwerpen gebruik je dezelfde methodologie, maar focus je op interieurobjecten en hoe object, ruimte en gebruiker samen één geheel vormen.

Hands-on, teamwork en real-life projecten staan centraal.
