👉A meaningful recognition of years of commitment to sustainable transition: VIVES has been awarded the internationally recognised SDG Pioneer Certificate.

The certificate was officially presented on 22 October during the Voka Sustainable Business Day in Antwerp. It marks another important step in VIVES' ongoing journey to embed sustainability ever more deeply into its education, research, and day-to-day operations.

These efforts are reflected in a wide range of concrete initiatives, including sustainability projects within the Business Management & Entrepreneurship programme, the work of Green Office VIVES, collaboration on the future One Health Campus, enhanced energy monitoring, and a weighing system that helps reduce food waste in catering services. In addition, colleagues and students contribute every day to further strengthening sustainability across our university of applied sciences.

This certificate is therefore the result of the dedication and commitment of many colleagues, students, and partners.

What a week of international exchange, connection and learning! 💙

We welcomed colleagues and students from across Europe, Africa and Asia for inspiring sessions, a city walk around Kortrijk, a visit to az groeninge (local general and teaching hospital) and FLAX: House of AI, an International Café and lots of opportunities to connect.
From nursing and midwifery discussions to online exchanges with students around the world, the international week brought different perspectives, cultures and experiences together. 🌎✨

A big thank you to everyone who joined us, on campus and online, and helped make this week so inspiring!

🌍 What a great evening at the 𝐊𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐣𝐤 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 event hosted by Kortrijk Studentenstad .

It was wonderful to see so many international students come together, make new connections, and discover the many opportunities Kortrijk has to offer. From sports and culture to arts and student activities, local organizations showcased how international students can get involved and feel at home in the city. ✨

A special thank you to the City of Kortrijk for hosting this inspiring event and Silvr Visuals for the pictures.

🙌 Why can we find VIVES in Lange Kruisstraat 25 in Ghent?

On Saturday, 20 September, we celebrated 80 years of diplomatic relations between Belgium and the Philippines. As part of this special occasion, a new plaque dedicated to José Rizal, the Philippine national hero, was officially unveiled in Ghent.

We are especially proud that students and staff from VIVES Technology, together with our partners from José Rizal University, contributed to this celebration by developing a virtual tour through Ghent, highlighting key locations connected to Rizal’s life and legacy.

The students had the honour of presenting their work at Ghent City Hall to a large audience, showcasing how technology, heritage, and international collaboration can come together.

Congratulations to our students for representing VIVES with such passion and professionalism!

🌍 A warm welcome to our international students
A new semester, a new home, and countless new adventures ahead.
This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming a new group of incoming students from all over the world to VIVES. They are about to embark a journey filled with inspiring encounters, new friendships, intercultural experiences, learning opportunities and, hopefully, plenty of unforgettable moments.
The students from campus Bruges were warmly welcomed in the City of Bruges, giving them the chance to get to know their new home and the city they will call home for the coming months.
Welcome to VIVES — and welcome to Belgium! 🌍
