As we wrap up EU Diversity Month, we want to recognise the people who bring international collaboration to life at VIVES: our Global Engagement Office.

Every day, they strengthen our global partnerships, support students and staff on their international journeys, and ensure that diversity and inclusion are part of everything we do.

Their commitment helps create a welcoming environment where different cultures, backgrounds, languages and perspectives come together — on our campuses and across our international network.

🤝 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗩𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗦 𝗕𝘂𝗱𝗱𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 - 𝗘𝗨 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵

During EU Diversity Month, we want highlight one of our favourite initiatives that brings diversity to life on our campuses: the VIVES Buddy Project.

Every semester, local and international students pair up to support each other, discover new perspectives, and build friendships across cultures.

It’s a simple concept with a big impact:
🤗 Students feel welcome from day one
🌍 Cultural exchange happens naturally
🤝Everyone gets the chance to learn from different backgrounds, languages and experiences

At VIVES International, we believe inclusion grows through real human connections and our buddies make that possible.

International experiences are most impactful when they are accessible and inclusive for all. At VIVES International, we work to ensure that every student or staff member, regardless of background, identity, or ability, can take part in Erasmus or another mobility opportunity.

🌍✨ Our International Summer School on Innovative Entrepreneurship has come to an end!

For two inspiring weeks, students from around the globe — from Chile to Italy, Algeria to Colombia and beyond — came together to learn, collaborate, and innovate.

Through workshops, company visits, and teamwork, they explored innovative business development, business ethics, social & circular entrepreneurship, emotional intelligence, and wellness for entrepreneurs.

And of course, they also enjoyed unforgettable moments in the beautiful cities of Bruges and Kortrijk.🇧🇪

🤝✍️ Strengthening international partnerships!

VIVES was pleased to welcome a delegation from 𝗛𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝗶 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗵 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Trường Đại học Sư phạm Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh - HCMUE as part of an important step in strengthening international cooperation. The visit included a guided tour of the VIVES Kortrijk Campus, an official introduction to VIVES with a specific focus on the domains of Social Sciences and Education, and in-depth discussions on future academic collaboration.
The visit was concluded with the formal signing of an exchange agreement, marking the start of a new partnership aimed at fostering student and staff mobility, knowledge exchange and long-term cooperation. The agreement was officially signed by VIVES General Director Kathy Dewitte and HCMC President Prof. Huynh Van Son underlining strong commitment to internationalisation and a meaningful global partnership. 🌏🇻🇳🇧🇪

𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 🇵🇭🇧🇪

At the end of March, students taking part in the Intensive Programme (IP) fully immersed themselves in research projects focused on Smart Farming. The IP is a short-term exchange programme bringing together Flemish students from VIVES and HOWEST with students from the Philippines. Together, they explored themes such as sustainable agriculture, food production and entrepreneurship.

💪 After a week filled with field visits, prototypes and fresh ideas, the students tackled two pressing challenges: how to encourage wider adoption of precision farming among farmers, and how to raise the profile of the Andean crop yacon. Their insights, strategies and surprising proposals clearly demonstrate how international cooperation is helping to shape the agriculture of tomorrow.
