🌍 A great international start to the new academic year!
We were delighted to welcome President Dr. John Octavius S. Palina and Head of Internationalisation Dr. Clara M. Gonzales from Saint Mary's University in the Philippines as our first international partner visit of the academic year.
Bringing together the departments from Education, Healthcare and Applied Social Studies, the visit offered valuable opportunities to exchange ideas, strengthen connections and explore new avenues for collaboration.
Another step forward, many more to come!

A sincere thank you to the Province of West Flanders (Wereldhuis West-Vlaanderen) for being a driving force behind our internationalisation efforts at VIVES University of Applied Sciences!

In times where resources for internationalisation are under great pressure, their continued support makes a tangible difference! It enables us to build meaningful, reciprocal partnerships across the globe - particularly with institutions in DAC countries - grounded in co-creation, knowledge exchange and impact.

From enabling student and staff mobility to strengthening collaborative learning initiatives and applied research, the Province’s commitment allows us to go for sustainable strategic international cooperation.

Together, we are not just internationalising education, we are shaping responsible future-ready global citizens and fostering long-term, reciprocal partnerships. 🙌

Within the ARTEMIS European University Alliance, (Belgium 🇧🇪), (Estonia 🇪🇪) and Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg (Germany 🇩🇪) are collaborating on the development of an innovative, technology-driven sandwich program. 💪
During this meeting, the partners will not only finalize further details regarding the program’s content, but they will also have the opportunity to get to know VIVES and Belgium better. 🌎

The 3rd edition of our International Summer School in Industrial AI took place at the end of May!

We were happy to welcome a new group of international students and professors for two inspiring weeks focused on AI, innovation, and collaboration.

This year, we're proud to host participants from the Shenyang Aerospace University (SAU) in Shenyang, together with Erasmus students from Université Clermont Auvergne, coming from our partner institution within the European University Alliance ARTEMIS.

During these 2 weeks, participants explored topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, AI Edge, and Large Language Models (LLMs), while also exchanging ideas and experiences in an international setting.

During EU Diversity Month, we want highlight one of our favourite initiatives that brings diversity to life on our campuses: the VIVES Buddy Project.

Every semester, local and international students pair up to support each other, discover new perspectives, and build friendships across cultures.

It’s a simple concept with a big impact:

🌍 Cultural exchange happens naturally
🤝Everyone gets the chance to learn from different backgrounds, languages and experiences

At VIVES International, we believe inclusion grows through real human connections and our buddies make that possible.

🌍✨ Our International Summer School on Innovative Entrepreneurship has come to an end!

For two inspiring weeks, students from around the globe — from Chile to Italy, Algeria to Colombia and beyond — came together to learn, collaborate, and innovate.

Through workshops, company visits, and teamwork, they explored innovative business development, business ethics, social & circular entrepreneurship, emotional intelligence, and wellness for entrepreneurs.

And of course, they also enjoyed unforgettable moments in the beautiful cities of Bruges and Kortrijk.🇧🇪
