London Calling! Catharina Feyen mag er concerteren in Kings Place. Proficiat, Cataharina!
🔦 MUSICIAN FOCUS 🔦
Born 1997 to two musical parents, Catharina Feyen started playing the double bass at the age of seven. She completed her bachelor studies at the LUCA School of Arts Leuven (BE) taught by Jan Buysschaert and in Codarts Rotterdam under the tutelage of Luis Cabrera. She then completed her master in performance and afterwards a fellowship at Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
Catharina has had the chance to participate in masterclasses with a lot of inspiring musicians like Wies de Bouvé, Joel Quarington, Janne Saksala and Edicson Ruiz and Alex Hanna. She is an alumni of the European Union Youth Orchestra and has also participated in the Pacific Music Festival in Japan, where she had to chance to play under conductors like Valery Gergiev, Christoph Eischenbach and Marin Alsop. She has played as a substitute in orchestra’s like the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, Antwerp Symphony Orchestra among others as well as being invited as guest principal for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and participating in the 2021-2023 MMSF string fellowship of Philharmonia Orchestra. Since August 2022 Catharina is a member of the bass section of the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
