🌍The second term of Intercultural Competences in Education was dedicated to embracing every voice within our teaching community by giving the floor to expert teachers to share their valuable insights, experiences, stories, and perspectives. In this powerful way, they enriched the meaningful content explored through the AFS Global Competence units.

👉We believe that creating space for real experiences, open dialogue, reflection, and questions allows us to build deeper connections and nurture more globally aware communities together.

🧡As this unit comes to a close for the academic year, we would like to sincerely thank everyone who trusted us to be part of their intercultural competence growth journey, as well as AFS Intercultural Programs and Global Up for supporting this transformative experience. 🌍✨

🌍One step closer to becoming a certified globally competent team of international educators—and we couldn’t be happier to collaborate with AFS Intercultural Programs and Caroline Steyaert AFS Low Lands for our PGIT unit on Intercultural Competences in Education.

💡This inspiring session explored the complexities of teaching and learning in diverse, multicultural environments, highlighting the importance of self-awareness, empathy, and humility in navigating intercultural encounters.

🧡By learning and growing together—and choosing constructive dialogue over limitations—our team continues to show that effective teaching today requires intercultural competence, adaptability, and a strong commitment to inclusive learning environments.

📍We’ve had a dynamic post-spring break return to campus, blending a sun-filled Thomas More University of Applied Sciences - Open Day with the energy of coming together to plan for the future.

🧡We were also thrilled to host three incredible guest experts who brought unique, inspiring perspectives to our community. A huge thank you to:
• Andrew Mitchell - BEPS International School for sharing deep dives into IB insights and curriculum development strategies for evolving school environments.
• Filip Sokolaj - European School of Brussels I (Programme Alumni, History & Geography Teacher) for breaking down the key competencies within European educational systems.
• Juan Francisco Betancourt - ISF Waterloo International School & ISF Tervuren (Programme Alumni, Psychologist & School Counselor) for sharing his expertise on supporting third-culture students by identifying and addressing harmful behaviors.

👉These are the moments that make our PGIT team truly proud—where impact, energy, and growth come together

🧡This week, we welcomed secondary students from De Met School to our campus for a powerful project day full of exploration, creativity, and innovation. From diving into the chemistry of stress in our brains to uncovering the power of the arts in everyday life, and tackling online safety and digital creativity—ideas were sparked everywhere.

🚀But we didn’t stop there… students rolled up their sleeves and got hands-on! From Fab-lab logo design and website building for impact, to music creation, green screen magic, VR experiences, and wellbeing workshops—creativity was in full flow. 🎨💻🎶

👏Huge applause to the incredible guest students and teachers for their energy—and to our International Teacher team for making these inspiring learning moments happen! ✨

👉 This week, we had the great pleasure of welcoming a highly motivated team of teachers for our International Week at Campus Kruidtuin Thomas More —a truly inspiring experience filled with STEM@School exploration, meaningful exchanges, and vibrant networking between international and local students.

🌍 Our Postgraduate International Teacher team was delighted to share our work in STEAM, with a strong focus on international education—highlighting the role of the arts, cross-disciplinary project work, and our shared passion for continuous growth, lifelong learning, and reflection.

🌐 As an open and collaborative international teacher network, our programme representatives also shared their experiences and insights into organising, developing, and implementing STEAM workshops—creating space for hands-on exploration, fun and learning.

🌍Open Campus Day is not just an opportunity to open our doors to interested candidates — it is, above all, a moment of connection, sharing, and growth.
