ONGOING SCHORLARSHIP @ ESEP -LE BERGER UNIVERSITY PORTNOVO CAMPUS
SPECIAL SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME 2021/2022 ACADEMIC SESSION.
In line with our culture and vision to train and graduate genuine graduates equipped with distinctive academic and professional skills that will impact the society positively, Great Shepherd University Porto- Novo( with French acronym :Esep-Le-Berger), approved and accredited on 18th October ,1999 by Decree NO:0136/MENRS/CAB/DC/SP, known for having graduated some of the best students of Nigerian extraction since 2012, who are occupying positions of great repute both in the public and private sectors, has decided to come up with this scholarship scheme 2021/2022 tagged “A SCHEME OF GREAT HOPE”.
OBJECTIVES OF THE SCHEME
The primary objectives of the scheme are two folds namely
i. To give Scholarship to some best pupils of selected Secondary Schools of the federation with an impeccable track record whose pupils scored the best grades at the ordinary levels examination ( NECO, WAEC/WASSCE,GCE) willing, but unable to further their education as a result of financial constraints.
ii. The Scheme is aimed at putting 150 to 200 Students Maximum on scholarship ,train and graduate them as well as prepare them for post graduate studies abroad namely in CANADA, USA, FRANCE, UK after their undergraduate programmes especially in areas of studies hereinafter specified.
SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
Selection for the scholarship scheme is simple and based on the following criteria.
1. Pupils shall not be above 19years of age (Pupils shall fall between the age brackets of 16 and 19years).
2. Selected Pupils shall be from Secondary schools (Private and Public) of the federation where basic French, Mathematics and ICT are being taught and Pupils shall show knowledge of this fact.
3. Pupils must have best grades at the ordinary level results ( i.e Five credits and above in a single sitting including English Language and Mathematics with basic Knowledge in French and ICT).
4. Pupils shall be medically sound and shall present medical report from a government approved clinic or hospital.
5. Pupils shall indicate their willingness to abide by the rules and regulations of the institution and the commitment to be trained by the institution to become highly bilingual at the point of graduation as pupil shall be trained in English and French languages and shall be made to go through rigorous internal and external examination at each level until graduation.
6. Pupils are to be trained by highly professional bilingual lecturers, however, the core courses in the areas of specialties shall be taught in English Language.
7. The scholarship maybe withdrawn from a Pupil at any given level where the Pupil in question shows gross lack of capacity and commitment to study the basic subjects: French ,English and ICT upon which the scholarship was given . The parents or sponsors of the affected pupil shall be called upon to continue with sponsorship until graduation or withdraw completely from the scheme.
8. The selection process shall take place in Nigeria either through our appointed Representatives or principals / proprietors of Secondary schools in consultation with concerned parents.
COMMENCEMENT DATE:
The scholarship scheme or selection commences with effects from 15th September 2021 and shall continue running for the next three years (Three sessions). However, each session (i.e. two semesters) is meant to accommodate only 150- 200 Students from the 36 states of the federation.
The commencement of each session is from September every year.
The session ends in March of every year. Meanwhile, the University operates summer semester which commences in May of every year and ends in July.
REQUIREMENTS
The requirements to be supplied by Pupils for examination before selection are as follows:
1. O’LEVEL results: five credits in a single sitting (NECO, WAEC/WASSCE, GCE).
2. A copy of birth certificate
3. Four passport size photographs ( white background)
4. A reference letter from the principal or proprietress of the school.
5. International Pass port
6. A copy of certificate of state of origin
7. Two referees

History /International Relations
Political science.

Note: Management of selected secondary schools for the scholarship scheme shall be reached through our Representatives in Nigeria. The list of these selected secondary schools as well as list of beneficiaries of the scholarship shall be published on the school website as well as the various social media platforms namely:
