Congratulations to Reese Ratcliffe, the 2026 recipient of the Roger A. Cox Memorial Scholarship at BCC!

Reese is pursuing an Associate in Arts degree in Health Technology at BCC and plans to continue her studies at UNC Wilmington to earn a bachelor’s degree in Health Technology.

Established in 2016, the scholarship honors former FOCUS Broadband General Manager Roger Cox and his lasting commitment to education and the Brunswick County community. The Roger A. Cox Endowment continues that legacy by supporting students like Reese as they pursue their educational goals.

We’re grateful to the FOCUS Broadband team for helping carry Roger’s commitment to education forward and investing in the future of BCC students.

August is National Make-A-Will Month, a good reminder to think about the people and causes that mean the most to you.

Taking care of the people you love comes first. But as you consider the legacy you hope to leave, you can also choose to continue supporting organizations that have made a difference in your life and community.

If BCC and its students hold a special place in your heart, including The Foundation of BCC in your will is one way to make an impact for generations to come. Your legacy can help future students pursue an education, build rewarding careers, support their families, and strengthen our community.

Already included The Foundation of BCC in your will or trust? We would be honored to know and welcome you into our Legacy of Giving Circle.

Celebrating a gift that honors the past while investing in the future.

Longtime BCC supporters Dan and Linda Lynes recently presented The Foundation of Brunswick Community College with a generous $20,000 gift in support of the Dan & Linda Lynes Brunswick Community College Endowed Scholarship Trust.

A portion of their gift was made in honor of Sarah Williams, mother of their dear friend and Brunswick County resident Teri Daly. Sarah dedicated more than 40 years of her life to nursing, including many years caring for patients right here in Brunswick County.

It was especially fitting to celebrate this gift in a nursing simulation lab inside the Dan & Linda Lynes Health Sciences Center at BCC. Dan and Linda's generosity has opened doors for countless students over the years, and their commitment continues to create opportunities for generations to come.

Thank you, Dan and Linda, for believing in our students and for choosing such a meaningful way to honor a life dedicated to serving others.

Did you know you can make a gift to The Foundation of BCC in honor or memory of someone special? You can also create a lasting legacy for students by including the Foundation in your estate plans. Contact Gabriella DiSisto at [email protected] or 910-755-6530 to learn more.

Building Legacies and Lives at BCC
The Foundation of Brunswick Community College recently welcomed members of the St. James Service Club for a check presentation supporting the Christine Corrigan Trades Scholarship Endowment. Established through the generosity of the St. James Service Club and named in memory of Christine Corrigan, the scholarship honors her legacy while helping students build bright futures.

The scholarship is available to Brunswick County students pursuing careers in the skilled trades, including both graduating high school seniors and adult learners returning to education. Recipients must be enrolled in programs that provide specialized skills training and hands-on experience, with the goal of helping strengthen Brunswick County's workforce.

Following the presentation, club members toured BCC's Welding Technology lab, where they saw firsthand how students are developing the practical skills needed for rewarding careers in the trades.

Thank you, St. James Service Club, for your generosity and for contributed to student success at BCC.
