New edition - Online Course:
“Special Topic: Actors, Power, and Global-Local Governance” (45h)
The course is taught in English by Prof. Dr. Giovanni Olsson (Unochapeco - Brazil) and Prof. Dr. Sean Meades (Algoma University - Canada) and offered as part of the Post-Graduation Program of UNOCHAPECO - Community University of Chapecó Region, Brazil, in our “International Actors” research field. However, considering the subject and the introductory level of readings/debates, students with different academic backgrounds/skills will be able to attend it. There are usually students of Law/Political Science/IR - undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate fellows, for example.
Brazilian grad/post-grad students are able to register and validate as academic credits. Moreover, due to the increasing interest of international partners in the global-local debate, this course is being shared by the International Office of the University (ARNI) since 2018, and foreign students are eligible to register. In former editions there were participants from almost all continents.
Registrations are in progress, so your students/researchers are very welcome to participate, and some spots are available FREE of any charge, according to the University policy. If you think it is interesting, please let them know so all registration procedures can take place as soon as possible. Registered students are entitled to a certificate of attendance.
All classes will take place remotely via Zoom.
In order to attend different time zones, classes will take place from 9am to 5pm Brasilia local time (GMT -3) with a short 1 hour lunch/rest break, following a 10 topics program with previously assigned readings.
As English is a second language for almost all attendees, no one shall be afraid of spelling/writing issues.
All readings are in English, and will be provided by us directly to students before starting.
Planned schedule is as follows (always on Saturdays, from 9am to 5pm Brasilia local time or GMT-3).
