This course introduces the student to assessment of human beings’ lived experiences within their environment. The dynamics of wellness and illness are explored through the holistic health assessment across the lifespan, with a focus on adults. Students develop the ability to assess individuals and begin to formulate nursing plans derived from collection and analysis of subjective and objective data from a health history and physical examination.
🧠 Knowledge from the science of nursing, human development, therapeutic communication, the humanities, arts, and natural and behavioral sciences will be integrated into the holistic assessment of human beings. This course prepares the student to become an empowered autonomous practitioner, capable of independent clinical judgments and decision making.
