This is the page of Translatio Studii, an interdisciplinary research group vinculated to the Federal Fluminense University. Criado em 2007, o principal objetivo do núcleo consiste em promover, de forma ampla, democrática, associativa e interdisciplinar, os estudos medievais no âmbito da Universidade Federal Fluminense e, por extensão, em nosso estado e país, considerando que a fatia de duração que
se convencionou chamar por Idade Média constituiu um importante "laboratório humano" cujo sentido e importância superam, inclusive, qualquer limitada perspectiva acerca de heranças diretas suas que possamos reconhecer ainda "(sobre)vivas" em nosso meio. Se o que a Idade Média nos ajuda a desvelar é o que temos de mais específico, distintivo e marcante em nossa presente realidade – a historicidade que a constitui – compete-nos requisitarmo-nos, plenos de direito, esse "passado que também nos pertence", fomentando a pesquisa, o intercâmbio e a formação de especialistas brasileiros nessa ampla área de conhecimentos. Created in 2007, the main objective of the group consist in promote, in a wide, democratic, associative and interdisciplinary way the medieval studies in the Federal Fluminense University and, by extension, in our state and country, considering that the space of time called Middle Ages constitutes an important “human laboratory” with is above any limited perspective about its direct inheritances that we can recognize (sur)viving among us. If the Middle Ages help us to reveal what we have of more specific, distinctive and remarkable in our present reality – its historicity – is up to us to claim, with plenty of right, this “past that also belong to us”, stimulating the research, the exchange and the formation of Brazilian specialists in this field.
