Dear Colleagues,

We invite you to read the article: “Pro-LGBTQIAP+ counterintuitive communication toward the consumer".

Authors: Taís Pasquotto Andreoli and Bárbara Assis Vieira

The study examines consumer reactions to counterintuitive communication, specifically on LGBTQIAP+ inclusion. It also examines how these unconventional approaches resonate with consumers compared to traditional marketing.

The research confirms the distinct impact of counterintuitive marketing communication through eye-tracking analysis and detailed questionnaires. Notably, the authors found that counterintuitive communication featuring a homosexual couple leads to more positive consumer behavior than traditional communication that portrays a heterosexual couple. This positive shift in consumer behavior was evident in visual attention, as captured by eye-tracking technology, and in the responses gathered through questionnaires, highlighting a strong consumer engagement with this form of advertising.

This study underscores the significant potential of marketing communication to shape societal values and worldviews, reinforcing its crucial role in social responsibility that extends beyond mere marketing objectives. It further validates counterintuitive communication's increasing importance and proven effectiveness as a valuable marketing strategy, demonstrating its capacity to resonate with and influence consumer perceptions. Ultimately, the findings contribute to a more nuanced understanding of consumer responses to advertising that embraces LGBTQIAP+ representation, offering valuable insights for developing more inclusive and impactful marketing campaigns.

Dear Colleagues,

We invite you to read the article: "Understanding software solutions in the routines of administrative employees of an oil company".

Authors: Eduardo Starling do Rego Monteiro, Erick Cardoso da Silva Figueira and Sandra Regina da Rocha-Pinto

This study contributes to the ongoing conversation about digital transformation, organizational routines, and technology's impact on the modern workplace.

Monteiro et al. (2025) highlight that employees rank the function of software solutions in their routines across three key categories: Firstly, as an information repository, focusing on the software's ability to store and provide easy access to data. Secondly, as an orchestration mechanism, software helps structure and coordinate tasks within their workflows. And thirdly, as guidelines for action, where software solutions begin to automate processes and even direct subsequent steps.

These perceptions are further shaped by four explanatory dimensions: the artifact's performance, which is how the software effectively supports the routine; the configuration between actors, detailing how the software influences collaboration and interaction; the degree of automation within the routine facilitated by the software; and accountability aspects, concerning how the software impacts transparency and auditability.

Dear Colleagues,

We invite you to read the article: "Enabling consumer reciprocity through voucher campaigns".

Authors: Juliano Domingues da Silva, João Otávio Montanha Endrici and Thiago Brusarosco Ferreira

This recent study, published in the REGE - Revista de Gestão, explores how reciprocity appeals influence consumer helping behavior in voucher campaigns. The research investigates the role of the type of reciprocity (direct vs. indirect), the social distance between consumer and brand, and the frequency of exposure to the appeal over time.

This study offers crucial insights for companies using voucher campaigns. It highlights the importance of tailoring the approach based on the customer relationship and managing the frequency of appeals to maximize engagement and prevent consumer fatigue.
