Our event started today at 8 AM! This edition’s theme is “Resistance and resilience narratives in the face of COVID-19”.
This is Cherokee Lynn from the USA, a former Fulbright English Language Teaching Assistant at the Federal University of Uberlandia. Cherokee had been a mother of an almost one-year old boy when the pandemic started. In the videos, she talks about how the pandemic has affected her life as a mother and how she believes she will narrate her experiences in the future through these times.

Nosso evento começou hoje, às 08h! O tema desta edição é “Narrativas de resistência e resiliência face à COVID-19”.
Esta é Cherokee Lynn, dos EUA, uma ex-Fulbright English Language Teaching Assistant na Universidade Federal de Uberlândia. Cherokee já era mãe de uma criança de quase um ano quando a pandemia começou. Neste vídeo, ela fala sobre como a pandemia afetou sua vida como mãe e como ela acredita que narrará suas experiências sobre estes tempos no futuro.

📌 Hello everyone! We are happy to announce the 7th edition of the English Culture and Diversity Day on August 25th, 2021! 🎉

📌 The event is annually promoted by "Letras" course: English Language and Literatures at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) and is open to everyone! 🤩

📌 ECDDay is an opportunity for you to practice your English in an immersive way! It will be an entire day with several round tables. 🤓🧠

📌 This year the event will be entirely remote, via Youtube 🖥️, which will allow the incursion of perspectives from people of different nationalities and discursive positions on the topic “Resilience and resistance narratives in the face of COVID-19”. 🦠 In the different dynamics that will make up the journey, the invited participants will tell their narratives in English about the subjective confrontation in the face of the pandemic and its consequences on the respective areas in which they work or spaces in which they circulate, having a facilitator responsible for mediating the interaction between the participants and the remote audience. You, as a listener of the event, in addition to practicing your oral skills in English, are invited to interact with us and share your experiences during the pandemic in our virtual chat at the roundtables! 💬
