🌏🇧🇼🇨🇳 From the University of Botswana to China: A Journey of Language, Culture and Opportunity! ✨

We are proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of Ms Victoria Thuli Kwada, going by the Chinese name 夸胜蓝. She is a dedicated student of the Chinese Studies Programme at the University of Botswana, who went to China representing the University in observing the finals of the 2026 Chinese Bridge Competition🇨🇳🎉

Victoria’s journey to China began with her participation in the 2026 Chinese Bridge Contest for Botswana University Students, where she competed against Chinese-language learners from universities across Botswana. Her impressive command of Mandarin Chinese, confidence and ability to eloquently express her passion for Chinese language and culture captured the attention of both the judges and the audience.

During her presentation, Victoria spoke passionately about her aspirations to become a bridge connecting Botswana and China. With her eyes set on a future in diplomacy and international relations, she expressed her ambition to continue developing herself academically and professionally, with the dream of becoming an Ambassador one day🇧🇼🇨🇳

Her achievement is even more inspiring considering the progress she has made at an early stage of her university journey. While in her second year, Victoria successfully passed both the HSK Level 3 written examination and HSKK Elementary oral examination—an important milestone demonstrating her commitment, perseverance and dedication to mastering the Chinese language📚👏

Her success reflects not only her own hard work, but also the support and guidance she has received from her lecturers in the Chinese Studies Programme.

The Department of Language, Linguistics and Literary Studies warmly congratulates Ms Victoria Thuli Kwada on this outstanding achievement! 🎊 We are proud to see our students gaining international exposure, developing valuable language and intercultural skills, and building connections between Botswana and China.
