🐋 Different places. One message. Conservation. 💚

On 10th October, UBWECS joined Yangtze Smile Studio on Zoom for The Journey of the Smiling Elves, the story of how China’s Yangtze finless porpoise, nicknamed the “Smiling Elf,” is making a comeback. 😊

From 1,012 porpoises in 2017 to 1,249 in 2022, the smiles are returning thanks to fishing bans, stronger laws, cleaner water and young people leading the way. 🌊🙋🏾

We also shared how UBWECS protects the environment through park maintenance, community education and teaching primary school learners. 🇧🇼🌿

This is only the beginning. Virtual seminars, student exchanges and shared ideas are on the way. 🤝

Because protection begins when the story is understood. Now you know the story. What will you do for nature? 🌍
