Are you interested in a Coqualeetza Grounds Tour? Guided tour offered Monday, October 5th at 10am to noon. Tours are provided by Stó:lō Service Agency’s Cultural Education Team. Proceeds go towards the cultural education team for ongoing programs and learning opportunities. Cost is $25 per person and pre-registration is required.

Fall Workshop: Relational Learning in Practice

On Saturday, October 17th, the day begins with Beyond Blankets: A Stó:lō Lands Exercise, an interactive experience that explores the impacts of colonization from a Stó:lō perspective

Following a 1-hour BYO lunch and networking break, participants will take part in a cedar weaving workshop led by Gracie Kelly, exploring the cultural significance of cedar through practice, relationship, and shared experience

The Workshop offers an opportunity to engage with learning in a more experiential way and consider how our understanding connects to place, relationships, and responsibility

Fall 2026 Workshop registration is open.

The 5-hour Workshop is designed to complement the 12-hour Foundations Modules, and we recommend taking both together.

THIS IS THE XWELÍTEM SIYÁYA FOUNDATIONS: MODULE

Fall Module: Foundations in History, Place, and Responsibility

Across four evening sessions, participants explore foundational topics that shape Indigenous–settler relations through the perspectives of Stó:lō Knowledge Givers, researchers, local leaders, and community members

The 12-hour Module includes learning about settler colonialism, Stó:lō history and relationships to land, questions informing living within the cultural landscape of S’olh Téméxw, community responsibility, and Stó:lō matriarchal history, leadership, and law

Together, the sessions create space to listen, learn, ask questions, and deepen understanding through Stó:lō perspectives and place-based learning

As we move through this time of reflection following the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we invite you to consider what it can mean to continue learning, listening, and moving forward in relationship.

Xwelítem Siyáya: Foundations is a place to begin, or to continue, that learning.

Rooted in Stó:lō Téméxw, Foundations is a 45-hour, non-credit learning journey developed with Stó:lō partners. Through place-based learning, dialogue, reflection, and experience, participants are invited to deepen their understanding of Indigenous–settler histories, relationships, responsibilities, reconciliation, and allyship.

The first season begins this October 15th, with 17 learning hours across four evening Modules and one full-day Workshop.

Xwelítem Siyáya offers an opportunity to keep showing up, asking questions, listening, reflecting, and considering how we move forward with greater understanding and responsibility.
