National AccessAbility Week (May 31 to June 6) recognizes the contributions of people with disabilities and highlights the importance of reducing barriers in our communities. It also raises awareness of accessibility issues and inclusion.

This yearโ€™s theme, โ€œBuilding a Stronger, Accessible Canada,โ€ highlights the ongoing work involved in creating more accessible learning, working, and community spaces.

At UFV, accessibility resources and supports are available through the Centre for Accessibility Services (CAS), Accessible UFV initiatives, and the Teaching & Learning Centreโ€™s accessibility and inclusive teaching resources.

These resources support accessible learning environments, adaptive technology, inclusive course design, and barrier-free access across campus.

Graduating at this year's 2026 Convocation?๐ŸŽ“ At the ceremony, you'll be wearing regalia for your big walk across the stage, but what you wear underneath still matters.

After the ceremony, youโ€™ll be taking photos with friends and family all day, so plan an outfit that feels polished, comfortable, and photo ready. Comfortable shoes are also a good idea.

Make sure you're ready for the big day! Get all the details at: https://www.ufv.ca/convocation/student-checklist/ceremony-instructions/

May 17 is International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia.

At UFV, we stand against homophobia, transphobia, and biphobia, and support those impacted by it. Hate, discrimination, and bigotry have no place on our campuses. We are committed to ensuring UFV remains a space where everyone can feel safe, respected, and supported.

Peer support and counselling are available, along with help updating personal information and accessing gender-inclusive spaces. There are many ways to connect and find support at UFV.

You can also find resources to learn, reflect, and take action as an ally.
