CSI: Real Life

The Community Justice Certificate is a series of four continuing education courses presenting an overview of the criminal justice system as well as the practices and principles used to prevent, intervene, and address criminality and individuals at risk. In addition, these courses also explore the role of science and technology as they apply to investigative outcomes. Building upon this theoretical foundation, best practices in community justice that address contemporary affecting your neighbourhood are examined. The issues include the role of the media, and social media at the community level. Special community topics include challenges and responses to bullying, family dynamics, substance abuse, and the unique needs of youth at risk.
The CSI:Real Life course examines the work of forensic officers from crime scene to laboratory to courtroom. Movies and television portray only part of the role of science in convicting the guilty and exonerating the innocent. This course provides its participants with a close look at the real life experiences of working CSI officers.
