In this introductory, hands-on course, you will build a strong foundation in knitting from casting on and mastering knit and purl stitches to casting off and reading basic patterns. Along the way, you will also explore decorative embroidery techniques and creative visible mending methods to bring new life to fabric or garments.

With a focus on learning by doing, you will get comfortable with materials, develop your skills, and complete a series of personalized projects you can feel proud of. These are timeless techniques you can carry into many future creative projects.

Want to get more out of your camera? 📷

This three-day course is designed for anyone with a 35mm SLR or mirrorless camera who wants to better understand how to use it. You will combine in-class learning with daily outdoor photography sessions around Bancroft, using the landscape as your classroom.

Each outing connects directly to what you have learned, so you can apply new skills right away. You will cover the fundamentals of aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and composition, and how they work together to control light, motion, and depth.

Through guided practice, you will build confidence photographing landscapes, wildlife, action, and long exposures, while developing both your technical skills and creative eye.
