Sport Administration students went to the Milton Sports Complex to assist with organization and set up for this weekend's Wickfest Festival.

Now in its 17th year, WickFest is one of the largest and most respected girls' hockey festivals globally, drawing thousands of young athletes annually for a multi-day experience that combines competition, development, and empowerment.

Founded in 2010 by four-time Olympic gold medalist and Hockey Hall of Famer Hayley Wickenheiser, the event was created to bring girls of all ages and skill levels together through hockey, while fostering personal growth, confidence, and lifelong connections.

To date, WickFest has engaged and impacted more than 40,000 girls, women, and event participants.

Our Sport Administration students truly shone at the BMO NXT LVL Cup Finals with Toronto FC Gaming. Their friendly, kind, and respectful demeanor earned them many compliments throughout the evening. They seized the chance to network and connect with industry professionals, and were always ready to lend a helping hand. We’re incredibly proud of how they represented Georgian College and made the most of this fantastic opportunity! 🌟👏

Last night Hospitality and Tourism Foundations students had the opportunity to attend an inspiring Industry Panel Event! 🌟 Professionals from the hospitality sector shared invaluable insights and advice, sparking excitement and motivation among the future leaders of the industry. A huge thank you goes out to our panelists who attended from Horseshoe Valley Resort Experience Simcoe County RTO7 Connection Air Transat for their time and wisdom. 🍽️🌍

Our chefs and Culinary students added flavour to the Georgian Golf Classic yesterday! 🎉 Golfers enjoyed an on-course, chef-crafted snack while they golfed through. 👨‍🍳

Big machinery, emerging technology, and learning beyond the classroom! Our Business-Agriculture students visited Kell Farms in Innisfil and Premier Equipment in Alliston, gaining insight into Canada’s grain industry and the technology shaping modern agriculture. Thank you to our hosts Steve Kell at Kell Farms and Clayton Rowbothom and Jeremy Ryan Rhan for sharing their expertise and giving us a firsthand look at agriculture in action. Students even got to ride a self-driving tractor!

Yesterday, our Golf Industry Management students had a great experience at Tangle Creek Golf Course! 🏌️‍♂️⛳️ From perfecting their swings to learning some ins and outs of course management, the day was filled with learning and fun.
