As we prepare to welcome students for the fall semester, our annual fall startup event brings Georgian employees together to reconnect, refocus and get ready to deliver an unrivaled student experience.

This year, Georgian alumna Pam Newlove (class of 1998 and 1999) joined employees to share reflections on her journey from Georgian student to health-care leader and the people who helped shape her along the way.

Her message was a powerful reminder that small moments matter. A smile, a conversation or a little encouragement can help a student feel seen, supported and that they belong.

Nearly 30 years later, Pam still remembers the Georgian employees who inspired her, supported her and taught her lessons she has carried throughout her career. Now, she’s come full circle to remind us of the lasting impact our Georgian community can have.

Thank you for coming back to where it all began, Pam! 💙

Opening Sept. 1 in Toronto: A powerful collection of 9/11 drawings by Canadian artist and Georgian alumnus John Coburn (class of 1978) will be featured in 25 Years of Healing Hearts: A Tribute to 9/11 in Drawings.

Coburn travelled to New York in the aftermath of 9/11, capturing scenes of loss, humanity and connection through pen-and-ink drawings. Years later, the collection remarkably survived a devastating fire that destroyed nearly everything in his studio.

Presented by the U.S. Consulate General Toronto, the free exhibition runs Sept. 1 to 12 at 918 Bathurst in Toronto and features 17 of Coburn’s works, including 10 on loan from the 9/11 Memorial & Museum in New York.

The Georgian College Board of Governors is pleased to announce that President and CEO Kevin Weaver will continue to lead the organization into 2032. Kevin was initially hired as President and CEO in 2022 for a five-year term. The board unanimously renewed Kevin’s term for another five years: April 1, 2027, to March 31, 2032.

Justyna Bronson (class of 2026) is part of the first graduating cohort of Georgian’s Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing program. After more than a decade working in speech therapy while raising her family, she found the right time to follow her passion for nursing and prepare to give back to her community.
