We'd like to take a moment this morning to honour the life of a CTS Paramedic program graduate. Thomas McQuirter is a graduate of our Barrie Campus - his career choice has undoubtedly changed hundreds and thousands of lives. It was a privilege to have such a bright learner in our classroom and we're heartbroken to hear of his passing. We send our deepest condolences to the loved ones of Thomas during this very difficult time.

Today, loved ones, friends, colleagues, and our emergency services partners gathered to pay their final respects to Toronto Paramedic Thomas McQuirter as he was laid to rest.

Since joining Toronto Paramedic Services in 2022, Thomas served our city with dedication, skill, and compassion. He brought comfort during difficult moments, supported those around him, and made a lasting impact on the colleagues and communities he served.

Thomas will be remembered for the difference he made in the lives of others and for the respect and kindness he showed every day.

Thank you, Thomas, for answering the call to serve our city. Your contributions will always be a part of Toronto Paramedic Services, and your memory will remain with us.

Rest easy. We've got it from here.

Learning in paramedicine never stops — and neither does our commitment to providing students with the most current, relevant education possible 🚑

We were incredibly grateful to have had our Medical Director, Dr. Michael Feldman, MD, PhD, FRCPC, who serves as Paramedic Services Medical Director for County of Simcoe, District of Muskoka, Rama and Beausoleil First Nations and Sunnybrook Centre for Pre-hospital Medicine generously share his time and expertise with our students and faculty on Monday this week to explore the future directions and critical concepts shaping Emergency Medical Services in Ontario. Opportunities like these allow our learners to engage directly with evolving industry standards, emerging challenges, and the realities of modern pre-hospital care.

At CTS Canadian Career College, we believe the strongest education comes from staying connected to the field as it changes in real time. Experiences like this help ensure our graduates leave with a well-rounded, up-to-date understanding of paramedicine — better preparing them for successful and impactful careers as future medics.
