Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College offers a 3-year Bachelor of Catholic Studies as well as one-, two-, and three-year certificate programs in Christian Humanities. Seat of Wisdom provides students with ample opportunity to pursue a rich variety of advanced courses in the fields at the heart of a liberal arts education, each taught with faithfulness to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. tions include Theology, Philosophy, History, Literature, with course offerings in Languages, Mathematics and Natural Science, Social Sciences, Classics, Music, Fine Arts, and more. Graduates have gone on to further education at various universities and colleges around the world, or have entered diverse fields of employment. The breadth of knowledge and skills in thinking, analyzing, and communicating that are achieved through the Liberal Arts are applicable to any chosen path. Join us in the beautiful Madawaska Valley for our Veritas Summer Program! Rising grade 11 and 12 students, along with recent high school graduates, are invited to attend!

During the program, attendees will participate in a series of faculty-led lectures and socratic seminars in the morning, while the afternoon and evening will include outdoor activities in the local area. Afternoon and evening activities include: swimming, canoeing, hiking in Algonquin Park, sports, board games, swing dances (with instruction), and music nights. There will also be daily opportunities for confession, Mass, and Eucharistic Adoration. Students will stay in residences with current SWC summer students serving as counsellors. The program will conclude with an overnight outdoor camping excursion.

The all-inclusive registration fee is $500. Priority will be given to those who have yet to attend the summer program.

As an added bonus, Veritas Summer Program attendees who later come to the College as full-time students will receive a tuition benefit of equal value to their VSP registration fee which will be applied to first-year tuition.

We are growing! Applications for 2026–27 are strong, and we are anticipating another large incoming class this fall. Even more encouraging: we expect between 80% and 90% of our first-year students to return next year – an historically high retention rate.

Students are not just coming to Seat of Wisdom. Students are putting down roots here. We must be ready to receive each student.

We would like to extend our most heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Jim Hughes, President Emeritus of Campaign Life Coalition and a true hero of the Canadian pro-life movement.

Jim’s leadership in the pro-life movement in Canada extended nearly five decades, including serving as the national president of Campaign Life Coalition for 34 years.

We join the pro-life community in celebrating the life of Jim Hughes and thanking him for his decades of tireless work which leave behind an enduring legacy. We also thank Jim for his service on our Regional Advisory Board.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen

It’s only been a few weeks since graduation but we are already looking back fondly at the events of this past year. Let’s take a moment to highlight and congratulate our Librarian Rory McKay, who recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Literature! Rory also successfully defended his honours thesis in Literature on J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings and Laozi’s Daodejing.

On Saturday, May 9th, Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College sponsored a reception at the inaugural art exhibition of Theopolis, a non-profit collective of Catholic artists founded by two SWC alumnae. The inaugural exhibition is titled The Drama of the Soul. We were very happy to see many alumni and friends of the College come to this event to connect, view the exhibition, and hear Dr. Patrick Craine speak about how the drama of soul plays out in Christian community life.

A big thank you to Theopolis co-founders, Eden O’Brien (’18) and Monica Sifert (’18), for inviting SWC to be involved in this event.

Theopolis is a non-profit working to renew faith and culture in Ontario by equipping a rising generation of Catholic artists and creating spaces of encounter between faithful and secular audiences. Theopolis’ inaugural exhibition will be running until May 17th. Visit theopolis.ca to learn more!

Thank you to all of the students, alumni, staff, faculty, and friends of the College that joined us at the National March for Life in Ottawa.

Today we marched together in support of the dignity of every human life alongside the multitude of participants from all around the country.
