Have you heard that on-campus dining is once again provided by SSU? That is correct! Now that some new additions have been made, you can once again enjoy your old favorites. This means that Booster Juice, the Bruin Coffee House at Davis, and the recently launched Station Express in the Student Centre at HMC are all available on all three campuses.

Important Updates for the Winter 2022 Term

For Winter 2022, our planning was guided by a set of principles that included contingency measures to allow us to shift to alternate modes of delivery if necessary. As a result of the rising cases of COVID-19 and the guidance, we have received from public health the Winter 2022 start date will remain January 10, 2022, however, most courses will be delivered remotely. We expect to return to campus on January 24, 2022. There are a few exceptions where in-person learning will begin on January 10, including some practical labs and healthcare-related programs. Students in those programs will receive more information in the coming days.

In the Spotlight:
International students are an integral and valued part of Sheridan’s diverse learning community. In the past year, we distributed more than $1M to international students through our COVID Emergency Bursary.

Return to Campus:
This fall, Sheridan welcomed back more than double the number of full and part-time students on campus than last fall. A focus on wellness, a flexible approach to academic delivery, and updated vaccination procedures and accommodations were among the priorities put in place to start the term.
Hybrid models enable the flexibility of virtual, digital work and bring back the incredible value of in-person relationships, collaboration, and on-campus vibrancy.

Two-Year Graduate Certificate Bundles
International students can apply for two consecutive graduate certificate programs at once to create a two-year Graduate Certificate Bundle. You can choose from a selection of Sheridan's graduate certificate bundles where you may qualify for a three-year post-grad work permit.

Benefits of a Sheridan two-year certificate bundle:
1. Easy application process with our pre-bundled program options
2. May qualify for a post-grad work permit for up to three years
3. Take advantage of Sheridan's award-winning postsecondary
education.
International students starting one of the bundles in Winter 2022 are eligible for a $2,000 Bundle Scholarship. Four installments of $500 will be awarded from the first to fourth term. Scholarship information for Fall 2022 start will be updated once it’s confirmed.

New for 2021/2022
International Entrance Scholarship

All new international students beginning their studies in the Fall 2021 or Winter 2022 semesters (with the exception of ESL and CAPS programs) may receive an entrance scholarship ranging from $1,000 to $2,000. Students will be notified of their exact scholarship amount with their offer of admission. These funds will be automatically added to students’ accounts in two equal installments issued early in the first and second terms of study. Students must remain full-time in term two for the second installment to be issued.

Effective November 30, 2021, Canada will expand the list of COVID-19 vaccines that travellers can receive to be considered fully vaccinated for the purpose of travel to Canada. The list will include Sinopharm, Sinovac and COVAXIN, matching the World Health Organization Emergency Use Listing.

Starting November 30, vaccination will be required for travel within and out of Canada. A valid COVID-19 molecular test will no longer be accepted as an alternative to vaccination . Travellers should contact their airline or railway company to obtain the necessary form and submit it in accordance with their carrier's approval process as of November 30.

As of January 15, 2022, travellers will only be allowed to enter the country if they are fully vaccinated with one of the vaccines approved for entry into Canada.

The Government of Canada will adjust some of Canada’s border measures beginning on Nov. 30 to include additional COVID-19 vaccines accepted for entry to Canada and changes to certain exemptions, testing and ArriveCAN requirements.
