Assiniboine College, in partnership with Manitoba Pork, has launched a new Hazardous Gas Awareness course designed to improve safety in agricultural workplaces.

This 4-hour, in-person workshop helps farm and barn workers recognize, prevent, and respond to hazardous gases such as:

➡️Hydrogen sulphide (H₂S)
➡️Methane (CH₄)
➡️Ammonia (NH₃)
➡️Carbon dioxide (CO₂)

Through demonstrations, real-world examples, and discussion, participants gain practical strategies to keep themselves and others safe.

👉 Currently, this course is offered through Manitoba Pork’s Direct to Producer program and is subsidized for levy-paying producers.

This partnership reflects how industry and education can come together to strengthen safety and support our agricultural communities.
