We will be hosting a SSHRC application on Tuesday October 27 at 12:30, in SWH 9152 in preparation for SSHRC MA Applications which are due December 1st, 2025.
If you are thinking about pursuing graduate school or in your first year of the MA program, we highly recommend you attending this session.
By attending the workshop you will get some hints on how to write a successful application, hear how the process works, and get to ask questions in regards to your own application.

Joining us will be Emmet Lee who was successful at getting a grant for his first year of his Master’s degree, after attending last year’s workshop and applying in his last year of his undergrad studies.
By now you should be working on your Program of Study document and your CCV and I encourage you to bring it with you to the information session. If you have not started do not worry, but I recommend you try to get some of your research interests down on paper as a starting point for the session. We will also show you past successful to help you even further.

Through decades of serving as chair, directing field schools across the globe, and the groundbreaking research and community engagement in the Pacific and beyond, Dave has transformed
our understanding of Polynesian settlement, migration,
and cultural development, while strengthening both
the department and broader archaeological community. A legacy that I am sure will continue to influence future research, teaching and mentorship. The 2026 Palaeo-Olympics are coming soon! Join us on October 16th to compete in palaeolithic themed events such as spear throwing, fire starting, and cave painting!

This year, teams can have a maximum of 10 people. Student teams are required to have at least one professor, and one grad student. Registration fee is $25 which includes a bandana and lunch.

Don’t have a team? Individual sign-up is also available, and we will find a team for you!

If you’re not interested in competing but still want to get involved, we are also looking for volunteers to help us run the event!
