Hasan was born and raised in Calgary and is returning for his second year with HSKR serving as Vice President, Operations and Finance. Hasan looks forward to the innovative series HSKR is taking on this year, “Humans of Haskayne,” inspired by the well-established “Humans of New York” photoblogs. Outside of school, Hasan has recently developed a new interest for off-roading in 4x4 SUVs with his friends. He fell in love with the hobby after getting out to TransAlta road over the summer! (Hasan Chawdhry, Accounting, 3rd year)

As an international student, I am open to trying out everything, and joining HSKR is another self-challenge. To me, the best way to learn is to get involved and take a look with your own eyes. For reporting, I don’t want to just stop at acknowledging, I then hope to be able to apply it, and have a chance to express my thoughts through it. That is why I choose to be part of HSKR. School works aside, I love doing still-life painting, so don’t be surprised when my hand seems to never stop moving back and forth, I am just sketching inside my head!” (Noah Nguyen, Supply Chain Management, 2nd Year)

I’m Dhyey Patel, and I'm currently majoring in accounting. I decided to join HSKR as it is a very unique opportunity to work on a report that provides insightful and current recommendations for business challenges and opportunities. It is also one of the few publications run by students in western Canada which is really awesome.

What is HSKR?

The Haskayne Report (HSKR) acts as a platform for future business leaders to provide insightful and actionable strategy recommendations for current business challenges and opportunities. HSKR aims to promote the importance of written business communication as well as create confidence and unity in the campus community by encouraging expression and collaboration. HSKR also serves to connect students to the local community through mentoring and networking opportunities.

HSKR is the only business publication of its kind in Western Canada, overseen by the leadership of students at the Haskayne School of Business. Nevertheless, every undergraduate student may contribute to its content and operations, regardless of faculty. Alumni students also have the ability to produce content.

HSKR has various mediums of content including (but not limited to) student-curated articles, podcasts, interviews, club and student features, and alumni spotlights.

HSKR accepts proposed submissions throughout the year (with an emphasis in September and January of each academic year) for its Fall and Winter editions. HSKR is published in early-December and mid-March. There is no membership fee. Any current undergraduate student or alumni is eligible to submit a proposal. Articles must focus on any topic in relation to the business world. Writers are encouraged to provide a unique analysis and perspective to the topic discussed as well as insightful and actionable recommendations.
