Proud to Support Culture, Connection, and Community Well-Being

Aquinas College is proud to celebrate the work of Albertans Mindfulness Society, the non-profit organization of Aquinas College, as it joined the Council & Assembly of Filipino Foundations and Associations (CAFA) in celebrating Alberta Culture.

Through the workshop “Culture, Connection, and Well-Being: Building a Mindful Alberta,” facilitated by Dr. AnnaLiza Sta. Ana, and Romeo Honorio, Founder and Director of Albertans Mindfulness Society and President of Aquinas College, participants explored how culture, belonging, meaningful connections, and mindfulness can contribute to stronger and healthier communities.

At Aquinas College, we believe education extends beyond the classroom. It is also about serving our communities, celebrating diversity, supporting well-being, and creating opportunities for people to connect and grow.

We are proud to support initiatives that bring people together and contribute to a more mindful, inclusive, and connected Alberta.

Distance. Weather. Road closures. Challenges. None of them were stronger than his determination.

This is what perseverance in education looks like.

One of our Massage Therapy students shares how determination helped him face the many challenges of pursuing his education. Long hours on the road, unpredictable Alberta weather, and even road closures could have made him give up—but he kept going.

Along the way, he found inspiration in his classmates—students coming from different communities across Alberta, some driving for hours just to complete their practical training and move one step closer to their dreams.

Their journeys may be different, but they share something powerful: the determination to finish what they started.

As educators, these are the stories that remind us why we continue despite the challenges we face. Behind every student is a dream, a sacrifice, a family, and a future worth fighting for.

At Aquinas College, our commitment remains the same: to teach minds, touch hearts, and transform lives through education.

💚 Determination knows no distance. Perseverance finds a way.

What does it take to achieve your dream? In this inspiring student...
