On Monday, we celebrate the hard work, dedication, and contributions of workers who help build stronger communities and brighter futures.

Aquinas College will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026, and will resume regular office operations on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

Distance. Weather. Road closures. Challenges. None of them were stronger than his determination.

This is what perseverance in education looks like.

One of our Massage Therapy students shares how determination helped him face the many challenges of pursuing his education. Long hours on the road, unpredictable Alberta weather, and even road closures could have made him give up—but he kept going.

Along the way, he found inspiration in his classmates—students coming from different communities across Alberta, some driving for hours just to complete their practical training and move one step closer to their dreams.

Their journeys may be different, but they share something powerful: the determination to finish what they started.

As educators, these are the stories that remind us why we continue despite the challenges we face. Behind every student is a dream, a sacrifice, a family, and a future worth fighting for.
