University of Calgary Kinesiology Faculty of Kinesiology, located in the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. One of the top sport science schools in the world.

The Faculty of Kinesiology, at the University of Calgary is a fully accredited, internationally recognized biomechanics, high performance sport, and human health research hub. The Faculty is home to the Olympic Oval, the Human Performance Lab, the Sport Medicine Centre, University of Calgary Active Living (formerly campus recreation) and Dinos athletics. Our mandate is to lead the way to healthy,

active living. The Faculty is in Calgary, Alberta, in the foothills, less than an hour away from the Rocky Mountains. We have a full graduate studies program, including thesis based Masters and PhD programs and a course-based Master of Kinesiology (MKin) program.

Newly named Dr. Roger Jackson Kinesiology Complex honours a visionary who helped shape our faculty and our city. From UCalgary’s role in the 1988 Winter Olympic Games to the founding of the Sport Medicine Centre and Olympic Oval, Dr. Roger Jackson built the foundation for the world class Faculty of Kinesiology we know today.

Huge congratulations to Ivanie Blondin, Valérie Maltais, and Isabelle Weidemann on defending their Olympic title in the women’s team pursuit at Milano Cortina 2026. A special shoutout to Isabelle, alumna (BSc’23), and Ivanie, who trains right here at the Olympic Oval. Celebrating alongside the team is Olympic Oval Director Mark Messer.
