Team Zeus is an interdisciplinary club based in University of Calgary, and welcomes engineering, business, art, and communications students at all stages of their university career. Our objective is to design, analyze, build, and race an electric motorcycle, while educating our members about sustainable and efficient methods of engineering, software applications, electrical control systems, team management, networking and many more skills that are essential to the real world. The motor controller is responsible for power output from the motor. It must be responsive and predictable in order to be effective. It takes raw rider inputs and translates them into controlled variables at the motor, all in real time. It is constantly calculating torque demands, adjusting outputs, and operating under constantly changing conditions. It is one of the most critical components in performance and control.
