Held during a special Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral, the Installation is a longstanding university tradition that formally entrusts a new President with the responsibility of leading and serving the University community.

Today holds special meaning at St. Mary’s University.

On August 15, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary — the woman whose name our university is honoured to bear.

Mary’s life points us toward faith, courage, service and hope. On her feast, we give thanks for her witness and ask that she continue to inspire our community as we learn, serve and grow together.

Our Lady, assumed into heaven, pray for us. 💙
