Earlier this week, our Bow Valley College community came together to recognize Orange Shirt Day. 🧡

The gathering created a space for learning, reflection, and connection as we honoured Residential School Survivors and remembered the children who never returned home.

As we recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we reflect on the history and ongoing impacts of residential schools and the importance of continuing to learn, listen, and move forward on the path toward reconciliation.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped create a meaningful space for our college community.

A warm welcome back to our Indigenous students!

It was wonderful to come together with students, Elders, instructors, and friends to reconnect and celebrate the start of a new term.

Hosted by Student Services, the School of Foundational Learning, and Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation, the gathering took place in our Indigenous outdoor gathering space at West Campus, in the heart of downtown Calgary.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this gathering so special.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Sober Stampede!

From line dancing and western games to mocktails, free food and great company, it was a fun way to celebrate Stampede on campus in an alcohol-free environment.

We loved seeing so many students come together to connect, have fun and make the most of the Stampede spirit. Thanks for celebrating with us!

Last Sunday, Bow Valley College proudly participated in the 17th Annual Walk for Reconciliation in honour of National Indigenous Peoples Day.

Alongside community members, partners, and organizations from across Calgary, we walked together to honour survivors of residential schools, remember those who never returned home, and reflect on the ongoing journey toward truth and reconciliation.

Thank you to the organizers, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, survivors, volunteers, and everyone who took part in this meaningful event. Together, we continue to listen, learn, and walk the path toward reconciliation.
